Food
Do you want to know where the locals are wining and dining this February? Then don't miss “LO MANDONGO”, held in La Massana until February 28th. Over 20 restaurants have set a special menu for this gastronomic event where you will have the chance to taste the local cuisine.
Local Festivities
Last weekend of February is Carnival weekend (Feb 24-27) when the main streets in Andorra La Vella and Escaldes will be flooded with people celebrating together a huge fancy dress party. Friday 24th is the opening of this festivity known as “Penjada de Carnestoltes” at 7 pm on the High Street (Carlemany Avenue). On Saturday 25th there will be different floats that will follow a route organised by the local families and each one will show a different theme. The parade will start at 6 pm and at the end of the route there will be a dance contest where you can also enjoy a juicy burger (3€/person). This will take place in Sala Prat del Roure (near Caldea Spa Centre).
On Sunday 26th there will be a local calçotada (typical meal from Catalonia) at 1.30 pm in the Escaldes Region.
If you miss the parade on Saturday evening, don't worry, on Monday evening there's a kiddies fancy dress contest at 5.30 pm in Sala Prat del Roure.
Please bare in mind that Monday 27th is Bank Holiday in Andorra La Vella however, shops will remain open.
Cultural Events and Activities
For those of you who like cultural activities, Andorra has lots of visits you can include in your travel itinerary such as the Iron Museum, the National Automobile Museum, the Comic Museum and more. You can also plan yourself a route and visit the main chapels and sanctuaries.
