Baqueira Beret plans to open 100 km skiable this weekend
The ski resort of the Val d'Aran and the Valls d'Àneu has received up to 40 cm of snow in the last hours so that, with the previous accumulated thicknesses and the complement of snow production, it expects to open up to 100 km if the weather conditions accompany. In this way the ski area is being expanded in view of the Christmas holidays in which the station aims to reach the maximum skiable ski area.
The snowfall that began at noon on Wednesday 13 and lasted until Thursday December 14 accumulated in Baqueira up to 40 cm of snow in the middle and about 30 in the high altitudes that have been affected by the northwest wind. A snowfall with temperatures down to -8º C and exceptionally expected to ensure a Christmas that is just around the corner with a high occupancy already confirmed.
As for the slopes, it is expected to have available to skiers and snowboarders 67 traces accessible through 31 lifts open in the areas of Baqueira, Beret and Bonaigua. The quality of the snow is powder or hard depending on the areas. The weather forecast is for a weekend with good weather and rising temperatures.
La Marató de TV3 Foundation celebrates its popular solidarity competition in Baqueira on Saturday December 16. This edition will have as its theme the prevention of sexual and reproductive health. It will be held at the Stadium Beret.
