Les Deux Alps, located in the French Alps, is one of the most popular resorts in France. Its name does not refer to there being two mountains that join in a single ski area, but to the fact of encompassing two populations: Vénosc and Mont-de-Lans.

The station is located on the Lauce glacier, the only one with the largest ski area in France, with 225 km distributed among 96 tracks. In addition, it is the second oldest ski resort in the country, after Chamonix.

Despite occupying a single mountain, it has a significant difference in altitude of 2,300 m, with long tracks. The altitude and the fact of having a glacier guarantee high quality snow, especially on the tracks that look to the north. The snow conditions in Les Deux Alpes are exceptional. Most tracks are above 2,000 m.

Why ski in Les Deux Alpes?

In the village of Les Deux Alpes, you will find a series of trawls that make up an excellent network of tracks for beginners. From several points of the town a series of lifts that take you to the main area. The area of least elevation (between 1,650 m and 2,100 m), located just above the town, is very steep and is basically formed by black tracks. Here you will find the mythical track Diable 1, that you can not miss.

A little further up, you will enter the area of Combe de Thuit, with long and less difficult tracks (blue and some red), and even the tops of the mountains Tête Moute (2,815 m) and Le Toura (2,915 m).

The third zone, the smallest one, is Lac Noir, with a selection of magnificent slopes if you are an intermediate skier, of about 600 m of unevenness and insurmountable snow conditions, surpassing the 3,000 m of altitude.

The last area is the glacier of Mont-de-Lans (3,200 m to 3,570 m), with easy tracks, ideal for you to learn with an unbeatable snow, enjoying fabulous views. From the upper level of the station, you can descend to the lowest point covering a continuous height difference of more than 2,200 m.

In total you will find: 17 green tracks, 45 blue, 22 red and 12 black distributed as we have explained previously.

If you want to learn or improve your ski or snow technique, Les Deux Alpes has 6 ski schools, suitable for all levels. There you can perform group or individual classes. Also, for the little ones, the French station has magnificent snow gardens, ski lessons from 4 years old, children's club and snacks.

And to add extra fun to your ski day, you can enjoy many après-ski activities: for example, live the experience of paragliding. You can also discover the natural claims of the station by driving a snowmobile. And a lap with the bumper cars? Les Deux Alpes has an original snow version of this attraction.
