Baqueira Beret is a great skiing destination in Spain. Located in the Aran Valley and occupying part of the Aneu Valley, many consider this resort one of the best in Spain because of its services, cable-cars and chairlifts, slopes and length and width of the tracks. It is well known because of the good conditioning of the tracks, this allows skiers of all levels and preferences to evolve and enjoy skiing.

Apart from being one of the largest ski areas in Spain, there are 103 slopes (spread across 155 kilometres), that make it a great destination to enjoy a ski holiday. On the other side, if you've thought about going skiing with children, this ski resort in the Catalan Pyrenees has up to four snow parks for children.

Here on Esquiades.com our ski and snowboard experts have prepared a guide where you'll find useful information of the Baqueira Beret ski resort.

Skiing Holidays in Baqueira Beret

Some of the most remarkable aspects of the Baqueira Beret ski resort is the good weather and its privileged mountain orientation. The Baqueira Beret ski resort, and the valley, receive the influence of the Atlantic ocean, because they are facing North.

The extension of the resort is over 155 skiable kilometres and has slopes for all levels, this great extension makes Baqueira a suitable resort for all types of skiers. There are three ski areas: Baqueira, Beret and La Bonaigua, which have a total of 103 ski slopes (6 green, 42 blue, 39 red and 16 black) and are all connected by cable-cars and chairlifts. So, it's really convenient to get from one ski area to another.

Regarding the ski areas, La Bonaigua area is the furthest and is suitable for professional skiers. There, there are many "off-pistes" and areas for freeriders. If you love snowboarding and freestyle skiing, the Beret ski area will be your favourite area, bringing together the two snowparks in Baqueira Beret.

Finally, the Baqueira ski area is the oldest and the one that has the largest variety of slopes. There are green slopes to learn to ski, other slopes that are more complicated, including the famous black slope, 'Escornacabres', one of the most popular slopes of the resort.

What services does Baqueira Beret offer on the slopes?

If you're going on a family ski holiday to Baqueira Beret, this place is perfect! There are 4 children's areas all of them have qualified staff. In the Baqueira ski area there are two parks for children: the one at 1,500 metres of altitude which is suitable for children aged between 3 months to 2 years old and a half, and the other park located at an altitude of 1,800 metres that is for children between 2 and 6 years old.

There is another kiddies area in the Beret ski area and another located in La Bonaigua. Both are open during weekends and are for children over 2 years old, that can also get started in the skiing world in a fun and safe way.

As for ski and snowboard equipment rental, there are 5 rental shops that offer this service. Three of them are in Baqueira, one is located in Beret and the other in La Bonaigua.

Modernization of its ski lifts and care of the snow on the slopes. The staff, in my experience, very good.

Of the ski resorts I have visited in Spain, I would say the best. Miles to spare. Tracks of all kinds and long. The landscape and the towns of the valley are very beautiful. The facilities in general are very good. For Apres-ski better the 1500
A bit over-priced for the restaurants/bars. I find the Bonaigua area a bit bland and poorly connected, I do not recommend skiing there. In my opinion, the moet is a very expensive bar for what it offers.

The best station I've been to. This start of the season has been horrible but you can be sure of snow and for a long time. I have always been lucky that I have caught dust and it is an absolute blast.
A very expensive pass, and they do not compensate even if they have almost everything closed.

It shows that there is a job behind that many do not see, the workers of the snow machines! Without a doubt, without them you could not ski! THANK YOU!

Despite the little amount of snow, they have worked very well on the condition of the slopes, they have distributed the snow very well

There are many tracks, in one day you don't finish them. They are well connected with chairlifts.
Old and slow chairlifts, the colour identification of the slopes is a bit arbitrary, most are blue and red. You had red tracks that could be blue, blue tracks that could be either red or green. For people without much experience that could be a problem.

Everything and the lack of snowfall, it has been possible to ski divinely, a super well-kept and comfortable station.

It should be borne in mind that there had been no snowfall in a long time. Still, they had half the station open and for the moment, in good shape.
Well all.

The station and its great services, when I went alone one day snow fell and the next it was spectacular
We have to wait for good snow, I'll definitely be back

Many tracks and very beautiful scenery. Good access and car park for all accesses. Lots of staff helping on the ski lifts
Prices too expensive for everything. The plans of the tracks were small and difficult to see due to their location. It would improve if they put more names on the slopes, Granvalira is much better at that.

The station is huge and very well cared for. It is very worth it.
Some of the ski lifts are quite old and go a little slow, but there are also new ones. They will be renewed little by little. Restaurants are prohibitive. The truth, a joke and a scam to sell a beer for 6 euros (for example and among many other things). I recommend bringing food from home, it seems a shame that they take advantage of it like this. It is one thing that it is more expensive, and another is this...unfortunate about the restaurants.

Very large station and beautiful surroundings
Lack of snow is not the fault of the resort, poor signposting of the slopes and in some places very poorly maintained, certain slopes due to snow conditions, in my opinion, should have been marked or closed (bathtubs of more than half a meter and full ice shovels).

Poor customer service and accident management. Terrible signage given the dangerous conditions and quality of snow. Terrible attention and comfort for people who park in the public car park lot. Open tracks in lamentable conditions. FALSE snow report. The snow condition was not spring, it was very hard. A disaster.

Nothing, they are very late even for the reading of ski passes!
The snow was not powder or hard powder it was frozen canyon snow. In the days that we went they advertised this on their page boasting and giving information that is not true

The station is the host, professional and friendly workers
Car Park away from the slopes (elevation 1,500). They should put a bus transfer service to the station. It would reduce the impact on the mountain, it would be faster and more efficient for users. The management of the station should consider how many years they want to continue opening, they are not helping themselves with the number of cars that circulate daily.

The staff at the ski lifts are very friendly and polite.
It is poorly signposted. On some tracks you don't know if you are going on a blue or red track, they are only marked at the beginning. Signage maps are missing at the end of some lifts. There are open tracks without stepping on it, and that means suffering for any skier
