Cetursa to build two new luxury hotels in the Sierra Nevada ski resort

The second phase of the relocation of Cetursa's offices, which began last year with the transfer of the administrative area to the building of the Caja Granada Foundation, now continues with the rest of the departments, more closely linked to the day-to-day operation of the ski resort itself.

The objective is to move them to the Poliderportivo Montebajo, which has been closed for 15 years, and where it will implement a comprehensive reform for its new purpose. When it is finished, it will have four subway floors, two of them for offices and the others for lockers, changing rooms, etc... The works should begin before the end of the summer in order to have them ready in April 2025 and take Cetursa's workers there.

The relocation of these offices also pursues another objective, which is to completely refurbish the current Hotel Telecabina to upgrade it from two to four stars. And in the space now vacated by the Cetursa building that is being moved to the sports center, to create up to 50 rooms that will be linked by a walkway to this new hotel establishment, which will even change its name.

The Hotel Telecabina de Sierra Nevada will be upgraded to 4-star superior range.

It will join the 'El Lodge, Ski & Spa', one of the two accommodations in this range in the ski resort of Sierra Nevadaand owned by Luxury Hotel Partners, who announced a few weeks ago that it had bought the Monachil hotel to upgrade it to five stars. The other premium is the Rumaykiyya.

Between the two hotels it will create a total of 170 rooms for a high profile customer, after an investment of 10 million euros. The first works should start as soon as the summer is over, in order to be able to inaugurate the Hotel Telecabina (already with a new name) for the 2025-2026 ski season.

To see the conversion of theTravenque Aparthotelinto a five-star hotel, we will have to wait until 2026, when the works should be finished in order to start marketing it for that ski season.

In these two years until the works are finished, it will be analyzed whether Cetursa will manage and market these two new hotels, or if it will outsource them to a specialized company.

Other projects, in this case already underway to inaugurate the next ski season, is the total refurbishment of the old Nevasol restaurant, which will be renamed Covap Alta Expresión, for another two million euros.
