Boí Taüll hosted the Ski Mountaineering World Cup 2024

In 2022 it was the European Cup, in 2023 already all World Cups, and this past 2024 two events of the ISMF World Cup that will be Olympic disciplines in the Winter Games Milan-Cortina d'Ampezzo in 2026. And that is the goal of Boi Taüll, continue to promote these modalities with the possibility of medal.

This was stated by Toni Sanmartí, director of FGC Turisme, a few days ago, when the Boí Taull 2024 Skimo World Cup concluded.

"Since Boí Taull in the orbit of Ferrocarrils, we focus all efforts on ski mountaineering, because it is the winter discipline where more Catalan athletes stand out and because it has two disciplines that will be Olympic in the next Games in Milan-Cortina d'Ampezzo 2026.

We will meet soon because we want to continue in the World Cup and host the events in which we have national skiers with options to be on the podium. We have to get back on the calendar".

In fact, the Spanish team won three medals, two of them won by the Catalan Oriol Cardona, one for the gold in Sprint, and the other a silver in Mixed Relay shared with Ana Alonso from Granada.

On the other hand, Sanmartí does not deny that the organization of the ski World Cup has a great economic impact on the Vall de Boí. Thus, the head of Tourism of FGC assured that hotels and restaurants are filled, "which gives life and wealth to the Vall de Boí".
