Heavy snowfalls leave 80 centimeters of snow on the ski slopes of Baqueira Beret

The widespread and very abundant snowfalls that are falling in the Pyrenees during the first days of this month of March, are leaving purely winter prints in the ski resorts. Although the weather is conditioning the arrival of skiers in some cases, it is also leaving the slopes and mountains in the best situation of the season.

This is the case of Baqueira Beret resort where the successive snowfalls of these days have already left 80 centimeters of new snow. Added to what was already on the slopes, they measure up to a maximum of 1.65 meters thick at some higher altitudes. While at the base, the resort reports 120 centimeters.

The weather forecasts speak of a stabilization of the weather from Sunday for a possible reactivation of snowfall at the end of next week. A situation that will allow to consolidate the conditions on the slopes for Easter, when probably the entire ski area can be opened.

March is leaving a lot of snow on the ski slopes of Baqueira Beret.

This weekend Baqueira Beret has all its ski areas open, with more than 90 kilometres of ski slopes enabled, while waiting for the mountain staff to continue working to condition the rest of the slopes or ensure safety in some areas where a lot of snow has fallen.

The recommendation in these days of heavy snowfall is not to leave the slopes, especially in those ski areas not controlled by the staff of Baqueira Beret, and if you do, with the minimum safety elements (probe + shovel + ARVA).
