The two resorts have looked magnificent in this first weekend of the ski season, and face the Immaculate Conception Bridge with good prospects thanks to the conditions on the slopes and weather forecasts.

The ski resorts of Astún and Formigal close their first weekend of the season with almost 70 kilometres of ski slopes between both winter resorts.

In the case of Formigal, of the Aramón Group, opened its hotel offer on Saturday with an excellent start marked by powder snow and very good conditions for skiing. The recent snowfalls, which have left up to 60 centimetres of snow together with the low temperatures of the week, made it possible to open that day with 47 skiable kilometres, 17 lifts open and all the valleys operational.

The opening has been lived with great atmosphere both on the slopes and in the après-ski of Marchica, with the expected Opening with the performance of Juan Magán, the king of Latin electro, which made the public vibrate in this season opener.

For its part in Astún has maintained a twenty kilometres with thicknesses reaching 65 cm of powder snow and winter temperatures in a fully seasonal atmosphere thanks to the mountains full of snow at the gates of December.

From now on, both winter resorts are working to expand their skiable area for the Immaculate Conception. In the case of Aramón , it will be accompanied by the opening of the first slopes in Cerler and Panticosa, while in the case of the 100K domain, Candanchú will also open and join Astún from December 5.

New snowfalls during these days

The Aragonese Pyrenees will face next week with a very variable weather marked by alternating precipitation, intense cold and brief truces of stability. Although Sunday has already started with a wintry atmosphere and abundant cloudiness, this Monday will come a slight improvement. Sunny spells combined with clouds and a moderate rise in maximum temperatures are expected, although the early morning will be subject to a yellow warning for extremely low temperatures, with values that could drop to -6 ° C in the Huesca Pyrenees.

From Tuesday onwards, conditions will deteriorate again. Cloudiness will be dominant and will leave new light precipitation in the afternoon. Wednesday will be one of the most difficult days of the week, with the possibility of a light snowfall, sleet in the early hours, before giving way to a cold and gray day.

Thursday will maintain the unpleasant atmosphere, with closed skies and intermittent precipitation during the afternoon, in a thermal context typical of the middle of winter. However, Friday, coinciding with the beginning of the Immaculate Conception, will offer a small respite with alternating clouds and clearings and slightly milder temperatures.

Overall, a very changeable week is expected, with a predominance of cold and several episodes of humidity, which could favor the first significant accumulations of snow at mid-elevations, especially in the middle of the week.
