Grandvalira Resorts are dressed up and are ready to welcome Christmas on their slopes with a wide range of Christmas and adventure proposals for the whole family. Pal Arinsal and Ordino Arcalís will have 100% of the slopes open at the beginning of the Christmas period, and Grandvalira expects to exceed 130 km skiable, with the possibility of increasing its skiable ski area with the opening of ski access from the El Peretol ski area from Monday, December 26. In this way, all Andorra's resorts will offer a Christmas in good conditions and practically at full capacity, with activities and gastronomic and musical experiences for all audiences.

Christmas in the Andorran resorts

The most typical Christmas activities will not be missing, such as the descent of torches in Soldeu on December 31 at 6 pm, on the Bosc Fosc, Ós and Avet slopes, and in Pas de la Casa, on January 5 at 6 pm, on the Directa slope. The latter will be followed by the arrival of the Three Wise Men, who will be welcomed by the traditional parade and a great fireworks display. The youngest skiers, from 6 to 12 years old, will be able to participate in the descent of lights in Soldeu on January 3.

Santa Claus will visit the snow gardens of Pas de la Casa, Grau Roig and Encamp on December 23 and the schools of Soldeu, El Tarter and Canillo on the morning of December 24 so that children can express their special wishes. He will also be present in Ordino Arcalís on December 23 from 10:00 to 16:00, visiting the Ski School, the snow garden and restaurants. In addition, there will be a mailbox where children can leave their letters.

On December 24, all those who wish may come to the sledding area and snow garden of Pal Arinsal to celebrate the Caga Tió and on January 4, the Royal Page will collect the children's letters for the Three Wise Men.

Santa Claus will visit the different ski resorts of Andorra during the Christmas holidays.

Santa Claus has also been present this month in Pal Arinsal with a special experience that allows you to visit him in his magical space in the Cow Bella Restaurant. The elves accompany the particitrousers by cable car and, once there, they prepare fun activities for them. This proposal was available until December 22 and more than 1,000 people were able to deliver their letter to Santa Claus.

Inauguration of the longest Snowtubbing in Europe

One of the most awaited novelties of the season is the Snowtubbing by Dots in Pas de la Casa, which will soon open and promises to become one of the favourites of the resort.

Snowtubbing consists of descending at high speed on a donut along a 350-metre course, making it the longest tubing run in Europe. It consists of numerous turns and two tunnels that Ski Pass under the slopes, increasing the fun and allowing speeds of up to 60 km/h. Grandvalira Resorts will soon announce the day when the activity will be available to the public.

To also enjoy the slopes once the day is over, Pas de la Casa will launch night skiing on the La Solana slope, which allows you to take advantage of the ski day under the starry sky until 20:00. This night option will be available every day from December 26 to January 7, and then will remain active from Thursday to Saturday after the Christmas holidays.

Musical Christmas and après-ski

L'Abarset will feature two major Christmas events this year. On December 30, Greenworld arrives in Grandvalira, an underground electronic music festival that has brought some of the world's best artists and will feature Ilario Alicante, De la Swing and Arxip at L'Abarset.

On January 6, another edition of Brunch -In The Snow will be held with the British house music duo Solardo, MAF b2b ONA and Axel Hit. L'Abarset has prepared a special proposal for this occasion that combines the entrance to the festival with a dinner in its restaurant.

The IQOS Terrace will also be a lively place during the Christmas season. On Saturday 24, the singer Nuria Swan will perform on the terrace of the Soldeu ski area, while the saxophonist Yabloko will perform on Saturday 31, both from 12:00 to 3.30 pm. Continuing with the musical proposals, the terrace of the Snack-Bar Colibri, in the Funicamp area, will be visited on January 5 by the Andorran singer-songwriter Patxi Leiva.

Ordino Arcalís will also feature Patxi Leiva, specifically at the Planells Restaurant on December 27 and January 7. In addition, DJ Yakaay will put the rhythm on December 25 and 29 at the Restaurant La Coma, while Mag Jorge will animate the terrace of Planells with his close magic for all audiences on December 31 and January 4.

Proposals for the most exquisite palates

During the Christmas season, the three ski resorts of Grandvalira Resorts will offer their wide variety of dining options, in addition to some specific options. The experimental and sensory product Picnic Gourmet, in the Soldeu - El Tarter ski areas of Grandvalira, will offer the opportunity to enjoy the best gourmet products of the season in the most hidden and rugged places of the resort, perfect to live the most idyllic image of Christmas. In addition, the Wine & Meat Bar by Jean Leon joins the proposals of night dinners from December 27 to 30 and from 2 to 4 January to offer a unique 360-degree experience in the snow.

Other Grandvalira restaurants that can be booked for dinner are Refugi del Llac de Pessons, Vodka Bar and L'Abarset. Lovers of fine dining should also consider the Coll de la Botella Restaurant in Pal, the new restaurants in the Arinsal ski area, Niu, Terroir and Piccolo, and the Restaurant la Coma in Ordino Arcalís.
