The squall that has affected the peninsula this week has been very generous with the Val d'Aran and Valls d'Àneu ski resort, leaving up to 75 cm of snow on its slopes and allowing a forecast of opening for the weekend of more than 80 traces that will mean 120 km of marked slopes. This increase in thickness also augurs a great month of March and Easter skiing and snowboarding in Baqueira Beret.

After a few months in which we missed precipitation of caliber, the final stretch of February has come with very good news in the form of snowfalls that have accumulated up to 75 cm in the high areas of the resort. With temperatures as low as -5ºC, the quality of the snow is powder at all altitudes and the slope grooming services are working double shifts to extend the resort's runs to around 120 km of slope s with approximately 80 runs open. Snow thicknesses on the slopes have increased up to one meter at 1800 and up to 145 cm at 2500.

The restaurants, equipment rental and other services offered by Baqueira Beret, including the Hotel Montarto, are expected to be fully operational. With more and more sunny days, it is the perfect time to enjoy the good weather in the different terraces, such as the new bar La Choza in Baqueira 1800, the Pàrrec Argulls in Bonaigua or the Barralh Blanhiblar in the Beret area, and take a break during the day in the snow.

Forecasts for March and Easter

This radical change in the weather situation allows us to be optimistic about the rest of the season, with a March full of events and especially Easter Week, scheduled from March 24 to 31, which will allow us to enjoy the final stretch of the season to the fullest, since the resort will close its lifts on April 7.

But before the season ends, there is more than a month left to make the most of every last flake of snow in the four areas of Baqueira, Beret, Bonaigua and Baciver. Especially to enjoy events such as the Jesus Serra Trophy of the Occident Foundation, the TOP CAEI FIS Championships of Spain U21/18 or already in the field of pure leisure with the Polar Sound and DJs in the Baqueira Bar and Moët Winter Lounge that fill the weekends with great music.
