Grandvalira opens 82 kilometers all connected between ski areas
Grandvalira Resorts will expand from this Saturday, December 16 the available skiable kilometers. The snowfalls of yesterday and this morning, which have left thicknesses of between 15 and 45 centimeters of new snow in different parts of the domains, along with the intense work of the terrain teams, will allow to connect all ski areas of the resorts from this Saturday.
On the one hand, Grandvalira will have a skiable connection between all ski areas, from Pas de la Casa to Canillo, passing through Grau Roig, Encamp, Soldeu and El Tarter. Thus, the skiable area that the resort plans to offer is 82 kilometers connected and will also have a total of 43 operational lifts.
New six-people Port Negre chairlift in Pal Arinsal
For its part, Pal Arinsal will premiere this Saturday the new Port Negre chairlift, a detachable six-people that is the main novelty of the season. The new Doppelmayr lift, which replaces the 4-people fixed clamp of the same name, is now longer and its starting point is lower than the previous one. Specifically, it is taken from right in front of the El Niu restaurant.
The new Port Negre chairlift has a transport capacity of about 2,400 people per hour, has 57 vehicles and reaches an altitude of 2,493 meters. The installation of this lift is the first step towards the skiable union between the two ski areas of the Massana resort, which will be operational from winter 2024-2025. In parallel, from this Saturday Pal Arinsal will have a total of 70% of the slopes open and 80% of the lifts operational, including the cable car that connects the two ski areas.
Finally, Ordino Arcalís, which started the season on November 24, will expand the skiable area to 85% of the open slopes and 70% of the operating lifts, also from this Saturday.
Ordino Arcalís will already be 85% open.
