If you are thinking of skiing in Andorra, on Esquiades.com you'll find all the information you need to know about the country and ski resorts. One of our favourite ski resorts is Vallnord -  Pal Arinsal ski resort, which since 2015 - 2016 offers its own ski pass. This ski pass gives you access to a total of 63 ski kilometers

Why ski in Vallnord - Pal Arinsal?

The Vallnord Pal Arinsal ski resort is a family-oriented ski resort with an electric atmosphere. The people that live and work in the village are super friendly and will make you feel at home straight away.

The ski resort has 7 green and 17 blue slopes , so it's the ideal place to learn to ski and also for keen beginners that want to improve their skills. If there are different levels of skiers in your group, there are also 17 red slopes for intermediate skiers and 4 black ski runs, for experienced skiers.

In Vallnord - Pal Arinsal you will find different services at the bottom of the slopes, such as bars and cafes, where you can stop for a break and have lunch in one of their restaurants. To make things easy and convenient for you, on Esquiades.com you can add lunch tickets to your booking and we'll have them delivered to your hotel.

The resort has 2 ski and snowboard schools with 200 qualified monitors, that will teach you the correct skiing technique. And if you're going on a ski holiday with your children, there are snow gardens for the little ones, where they can spend the day and play with other children in the snow.

This ski resort also has a great selection of aprés-ski activities for both adults and children. There are plenty of activities you can do as a family such as Snowsnakes, tobogganing and Zip lines. If you're on a couples ski holiday, we recommend you to try snowshoeing as it's another great way to explore the mountain.

Do you need to rent ski and snowboard equipment? We work with different rental shops located on different areas of the ski resort so, if you need to rent equipment, make sure you add it to your booking as we offer special prices, cheaper than renting the equipment directly at the shops.

Good to know: The Vallnord - Pal Arinsal ski resort has free Wi-Fi connection in its entire ski area.

Skiing in the Pal Ski Area

Pal is located closest to the capital Andorra la Vella. You can access the Pal ski resort by car, or take the cable car that is in La Massana, which will take you directly from the village to the ski slopes. This second option is great if you've booked your hotel or apartment in La Massana.

This ski area is the ideal place for family skiing. The ski slopes are located in an area full of pine trees which make it very charming. In Pal you will also find the Pekepark, a snow garden where children can learn to ski whilst participating in different fun activities. If your children is too old for the snow garden, you can book ski and snowboard lessons. Don't forget that you can add this service to your booking with Esquiades.com.

The soft mountain of this area and its easy and intermediate level ski slopes make it a good option for beginner skiers. There's a designated area for first-time skiers where they can try beginner lifts and gain some confidence before heading down the slopes.

One last thing, the Pal ski area also offers loads of snow activities, such as excursions in buggies with chenillesnowshoeing circuits or cross-country skiing

Skiing in the Arinsal Ski Area

The Arinsal ski area is located about 5 kilometers from the Arinsal town centre. You can access the slopes by car, bus or if you're skiing in Pal, there's a cable-car that will take you all the way to Arinsal. In the centre of Arinsal there's also another cable-car you can take. This ski area has one of the largest slopes in Andorra, with more than 1,000 meters of difference between the highest and the lowest part of the "Les Mirrades" track. A fun fact about this track is that it also reaches a part of the town of Arinsal and you can reach it from some of the ski hotels located around it.

The slopes in Arinsal are great for any type of skier and snowboarder. For those who are into extreme sports, there are steep slopes in the area of the "La Capa". There's also a snowpark called the Arinsal Snowpark, perfect for all levels, even for those who are giving this a go for the first time.

Both ski areas have enough to keep everyone you're travelling with entertained and happy. Pal is the perfect spot for a family ski holiday and Arinsal is ideal if you're travelling with a group of friends of different levels.

Book a ski holiday to Vallnord - Pal Arinsal with Esquiades.com

On Esquiades.com all of our ski packages include the accommodation and ski pass.  So, all you need to do is decide where you wish to stay in Las Massana or Arinsal. If you're looking to be close to Andorra, there are plenty of hotels in La Massana. If however, you want to experience staying in an authentic ski village, we suggest you book one of our hotels or self-catered apartments in Arinsal, some of which are practically on the slopes.

How to get to Vallnord Pal-Arinsal

Vallnord Pal Arinsal is located in the northwest of Andorra, in the parish (Andorran territorial division) of La Massana.

As you know, our ski holidays include the accommodation, ski pass and you can add all the extras you need. If you're on a self-driving ski holiday, the Pal ski area has a very comfortable access: it can be reached by road or by the cable car that connects La Massana with the ski slopes, for those who do not want to take the car. It is also possible to access by road from the border between Andorra and Spain. To do this, follow the CG-1 (General Road 1) to the capital Andorra la Vella. At the height of Unió Street, turn left and go straight ahead on the CG-3 (General Road 3) until you reach the town of la Massana, where you should follow the indications to the CG-4 (General Road 4). At the end of the road, passing through the town of Pal, is the ski resort, from where you can access the slopes. Remember that you can also stay in the town of La Massana and take the cable car to access Pal. In addition, as it is connected to Arinsal you can access both sectors from the same site.

If you want to know how to get to the Arinsal ski area, we inform you that you must follow the same route that is done to get to the Pal sector until you reach the town of Erts . From there, you must pass from the CG-4 (General Road 4) to the CG-5 (General Road 5), and after 5 kilometers from the town of Arinsal you will find the ski slopes of the sector with the same name.

All of our ski packages are self-driving ski holidays which allows us to be super flexible with your booking dates and durations and also offer you the option of cancelling your booking for free in most of our ski deals ;) So, if if you need to book flights to ski in Andorra, we recommend you to fly into either Barcelona El Prat airport or Toulouse Blagnac, both of which are about a 3-hour and 30-minute drive to Andorra. We can provide car rental service from Barcelona El Prat Airport or Airport Transfer service from both airports at an excellent price!

Tracks in good condition, good lifts. Nice staff.
There were ski classes in schools and you had to dodge as there were few tracks open due to the covid issue.

Especially during the week, there were very few people, which despite the few slopes that were open, allowed for comfortable skiing and parking very close to the ski lift.
During our visit, Arinsal was closed, and the Pal had only opened 1 chairlift on weekdays and 2 on weekends, which meant that we could not enjoy anything more than about 4 or 5 slopes (only blue and red). In addition, due to the high temperature (almost 13º in the middle of the morning) and the dust rain that had recently fallen, the snow was "red" and very undone from mid-morning ... That there were very few open slopes, and all the The world will go through the same slopes, it does not help to maintain the quality of the snow. I was not advised that during the week they close at 3pm.

I liked having access to the tracks in times of covid and as a foreigner!
Closure of the slopes at 3 p.m. And access to 30% of the resort was limited to the opening of a single chairlift ????????

The station is very cool, very familiar. Very optimized (with few lifts, many slopes and very entertaining, especially for family)
There were only two chairs open during the weekend (on the other hand, enough, since they gave access to the entire Pal sector). But during the week there was only one chair! Which is clearly very limited (even for young children). Not to mention that the entire Arinsal sector was closed. We wonder if we will return or not, we would like to know what kind of season it is when everything is open. It promises, but we've done the same tracks too many times.

We love this season, without queues in ski lifts, with good snow and with tracks wide and long enough to learn and progress.
The Wi-Fi of the station is only accessible in very few points (something understandable), but in the cafeteria area of the Escola I and II track there was no signal and it is where it is most used.

Telecabina mostly closed from arinsal to pal, you need to use freebus to la massana for Pal sector , will take 30-60 mins to be there on the slope, you easily mix up your skis in the awkward storage at the bottom of the bus, change the type of the bus guys.

I like it because I go to this station every year.
The ski lift of 4 that goes up to the cable car that goes to Pal. It is very slow, slow.

Arinsal is a station with few tracks and soon falls short, Pal liked it and had much more fun.
The cabin (cable car) that connects both stations closes very frequently. Beware of this! Collective / private classes: total disorganization, they confirm one thing and when you arrive they change schedules, groups ... It's not right ...

There was a lot of snow because we were lucky that it snowed
It is small for the price of the ski pass, and even being during the week there were many classes of children with monitors who believe they own the slopes and occupy the entire slopes without leaving room for the rest of the people we want to ski.
