If you're planning your Andorra skiing holidays, Esquiades.com gives you the chance to go there and provides all the information related to the different ski resorts located in this country. Among them, there is the Vallnord Pal Arinsal ski resort, since the 2015-2016 season the resort offers their own ski pass. This Ski Pass can be used inside the 63 skiable kilometres. Below, there is all the useful information about the two ski resorts: Pal and Arinsal so you can choose the best option for your ski holiday.

Vallnord Pal Arinsal ski resort

The Vallnord Pal Arinsal ski resort has amazing sorroundings, and the access to the resort is located at an altitude of 1,550 metres (lowest point). Both sectors have their own features, that are the following:

The ski resort has 7 green slopes and 15 blue slopes for beginners. It also has 16 red slopes for people who love steep slopes and like to go as fast as possible. Furthermore, the resort also counts with 4 black ski slopes, ideal for experienced skiers. There are a total of 30 chairlifts that take visitors up to 2,560 metres of altitude, and then it is possible to enjoy skiing back down to the start of the ski slopes.

In Vallnord Pal Arinsal you will be able to find different services right inside the domain, such as bars and cafeterias, where it is possible to take a break, or have something to eat at one of the different restaurants. Inside the resort there are available 2 skiing and snowboarding schools with more than 200 qualified instructors. If you are going to ski with children, you can leave them at the snow gardens that are located in the main areas of the resort, where children can learn while they play with the snow. In any case, Esquiades.com recommends many alternatives and outdoor activities in Vallnord Pal Arinsal in order to make the most of your holidays.

If you have booked ski hire through Esquiades.com, you can pick-up the equipment at the ski shops located near the access points. Finally, note that Vallnord Pal Arinsal has free Wi-Fi inside the skiing domian.

Both sectors inside the Vallnord Pal Arinsal ski resort are connected by chairlifts and slopes.

Pal sector

Pal is the nearest sector to the capital of the country, Andorra la Vella. The Pal sector can be accessed by car or by using the cable-car located in La Massana, which will take you directly from the village to the ski slopes. Some hotels and apartments allow skiers to access the cable-car with your skiing boots on.

This ski resort has become the ideal place for families. The ski slopes are located in an area full of trees, that offers to ski in a beautiful area. In Pal there is the Pekepark, a snow garden where children can learn to ski while having lots of fun. Through Esquiades.com it is also possible to book ski lessons. All the instructors that work at the Pal ski resort are qualified to be able to teach skiing and snowboarding for children and adults.

The low mountain gradient of the slopes inside this ski resort are easy and intermediate level, and makes it a good option for beginners. It has special chairlifts for beginners and the slopes have a good difficulty progression, so it is possible to improve your level step by step and access steeper slopes at the end of the day.

Finally, note that at the Pal ski resort it is also possible to practice a variety of outdoor activities, such as hiking, booking snow jet skis, snowshoeing and mushing (sleigh pulled by dogs).

Arinsal sector

The Arinsal ski resort is located 5 kilometres from the village that has the same name. Access to the slopes can be done in your own car, by bus, taking the cable-car in La Massana and skiing to the Arinsal slopes or with the cable-car that is in the centre of the Arinsal village. This ski resort has one of the largest slopes in Andorra, with more than 1,000 metres of altitude difference between the top and bottom of the slope "Les Mirrades". It is also good to know that this slope also reaches Arinsal and can be accessed directly from some of the hotels located next to it.

Arinsal features slopes for skiers with a low, medium and high level, and especially for freeriders. Ski lovers will find the most steep slopes near the ski slope called "La Capa". It also has the Arinsal Snowpark with modules for all levels, even for those who are starting to practice this type of snowboarding and skiing.

In conclusion, the two sectors together form a complete tandem for everyone. Pal offers skiers the possibility to travel with their family and a place to enjoy skiing with children, and Arinsal offers more difficult slopes for more advanced skiers, and also gives the possibility to practice and improve tricks and skills.

How to get to Vallnord Pal Arinsal?

The Vallnord Pal Arinsal ski resort is located in the Northwest of Andorra, in La Massana.

The most convenient access is by road or by using the cable-car that links La Massana with the ski slopes. You can also access by road from the border between Andorra and Spain. For this, you have to follow the CG-1 (General Highway 1) to the capital, Andorra la Vella. At the height of Unió Street, turn left and go straight to CG-3 (General Highway 3) to La Massana, where you should follow the signs that take you to the CG-4 (Main Road 4). At the end of the road, when you pass Pal, you are at the ski area, from where can access the slopes. Remember that you can also stay in La Massana and take the cable-car to access Pal. In addition, as it is connected to Arinsal, you can access both ski resorts from the same place.

If you want to know how to get to the Arinsal ski resort, we inform you that you must follow the same route to get to Pal from Erts. From there, you must pass the CG-4 (General Highway 4) to CG-5 (General Road 5) and the last 5 kilometres from Arinsal you will find the ski resort with the same name.

Although they indicated that 100% of the slopes were open, the snow part indicating powder snow was not at all true. The tracks will be regular, except for a couple that were decent. Some sections should not even have been open for security.

Rest areas, cafeteria and restaurants very good service. Parking well because if you are far from tracks there is a train that goes up and down for free.
When queuing to enter the chairlifts, it would be good once the ski pass is guided to guide the roads with ropes since people are very anxious and pass in front of you in any way even causing others to fall, stepping on skis etc. On Friday there was a lot of ice on the slopes (green and blue), on Saturday the guns were put on and I improve a lot (I don't know if they only connect on Saturdays since a lot more people are coming or not but they could be put on if there is ice even if it's not Weekend).

In my opinion, Arinsal is better for snowboard than Pal. But Pal is larger and you will probably find your favorite slopes in Pal too.
It's very strange that snow cannons are still work after snowcat work, and snowcats don't flatten the generated snow, so there are a lot of knolls on the slopes, often iced on top, and horizontal profile of slopes is not smooth because of it.

The best thing is that due to its size it is easy to ski with family or friends when there are different levels, since you can always find yourself somewhere. There are also no queues ever on chairlifts and trawlers

The monitors were excellent with my children. A lot of clues to explore.
You have to be very careful on some of the green tracks that some have no safety net on the right side, if you leave the track you will fall from five to 8 m high. I find myself extremely dangerous for a green track.

It is a suitable season to learn to ski. Both for the tube area, as for the green and blue tracks, long and wide. Enough ski lifts and coffee shops. Wonderful Ernesto's crepe stand in front of the cable car, down in Arinsal.
The wifi signal It is a pity that I have no more snow for the dates we have caught. Even so, they have taken care to keep it every day, but at the end of the day it accumulated through the center of the most basic tracks. I still don't understand why it costs € 3 a Coca Cola, but hey, that's what you get

Very comfortable and familiar station. Easy access, good leads and not many people.
The ski school is not my favorite. I have coincided in these years with some monitors a little "edges" and for what it costs to learn to ski, in effort and economy, they should have more patience and dedication to service.

You have to pay to use sleds, even if you carry yours. The ski lessons are very expensive and with very large groups, as a result children do not learn. Few tracks and snow rather ice. Track workers would have to be a bit more humble, which seems to be going to inherit the tracks or something. They all speak to you with a arrogance that you freak out. Very bad experience in Andorra

When I read the comments I was scared of the snow that I was going to find, but within the time so abnormal and hot we have had, it has been perfect, I have had enough of skiing in both seasons. It is a small station but very cool and well maintained. The invention of the century is the Guardians had never left everything so comfortable "to the boots" and had left without any material to the hotel. Thanks Vallnort. I'll fly

We really like this season because of the variety of bars on the slopes, the possibility of going to the Pal or Arinsal sector depending on the number of people and the quality of the snow. The weather was very good and the snow was quite good during the day considering that the temperature was not very low

Do not count on ordino-arcalis. I will not return until it is included in valnord. The service in the cafeteria located next to the funicular towards Arinsal. We had to get up and leave (40 min to be taken care of)

I liked the station, now that the two sectors are connected is a pass. The service in the cafeterias is excellent.
I liked everything.
