40 cm in Boí Taüll , 20 in La Molina , Espot , Port Ainé and Vall de Núria and 15 cm Vallter 2000 of fresh snow this past Saturday and it continues and will continue to snow.
The ski resorts of Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya are experiencing this weekend the biggest snowfall of the year, which could leave them, on some slopes, with up to half a meter of snow when it was most needed.
Since December, there hadn't been a significant snowfall and, little by little, with the good weather and the high temperatures of February, the snow cover on the slopes had been decreasing to worrying thicknesses to be able to reach Easter in good conditions.
Last snowfall in Boí Taüll - 03/12
Everything has changed in just 24 hours and resorts such as Boí Taüll accumulated this past Saturday morning up to 40 centimeters of new snow, by 20 La Molina, Espot, Port Ainé and Vall de Núria and 15 cm Vallter 2000.
But the best may still be yet to come, with the stormy weather expected for the beginning of the week.
The commercial director of La Molina, Marta Viver, did not hide her satisfaction with the fallen snow. “We have been expecting a snowfall like this for many days,” he says. The snowfall has already allowed the opening of three new slopes, “which could be more when we have stepped on everything and see exactly what is there”, the commercial director has reported.
Ski Espot - 03/12
Despite the latest snowfall it is still a bit early to talk about Easter, because there is more than a month left and it will depend on the temperatures and the snow level, for now, although it is wet at 1,400 meters, at 2,000 meters it is very dry.
What is clear is that if with yesterday's conditions it seemed difficult to reach the last stretch of the 2021-22 season, today everything looks much whiter, like the images with which we illustrate this information.
