Soldeu creates a permanent stadium for high competition skiing training

Estadi Creand, the name chosen by the sponsor of the facility, will be the new training and permanent competition slope that Grandvalira's Soldeu ski area will open for the 2024-25 season. This new bet for the high competition, is added to the Candidature of the World Alpine Ski Championships 2029.

The current black Slalom slope, which is located next to the Avet slope, will become a space adapted and dedicated exclusively to high competition skiers. To offer favorable conditions and make the stadium more accessible, the resort will install a ski lift at the base of Soldeu that will go up to the top of the slope. In addition, low-pressure snow cannons will be incorporated to ensure the best possible conditions on the course.

The slalom slope next to the Avet will now be the Creand Stadium for training.

Santi Lopez, sports director of the Andorra 2029 candidacy, has explained that

"it will be a training stadium where athletes will be able to train on a hard or very hard snow base, simulating European Cup and World Cup level race situations".

In turn, Carles Visa, manager of the Andorran Ski Federation (FAE) has applauded the initiative, as the Creand Stadium will be the first of its kind in Andorra.

"will provide an optimal service to Andorran athletes who compete at the highest international level. Having the stadium at our disposal and with easy access will give us a certain independence, and will allow us to better limit the duration of the training sessions for the National, EEBE and Technified Teams".

The Creand Stadium will have its own ski lift and snow cannons.

The general director of Grandvalira SETAP365 and head of the Andorra 2029 candidacy, David Hidalgo has assured that

"This is another investment that demonstrates the level of commitment to alpine skiing competition, consistent with our commitment to the World Cup and future World Championships. It is part of our sporting DNA to support national skiing, and that is why we provide the resources and specialized equipment necessary for athletes to have the best conditions for training".

The refurbishment of the Creand Stadium will start soon.
