Ordino Arcalís has enjoyed the longest summer-autumn season among Grandvalira Resorts, with days that have lasted from June 7 until Sunday, November 2, when the resort ended the hotel offer with the closure of the accesses to the Tristaina Solar Viewpoint.

During the summer period, the Creussans chairlift and the Tristaina gondola lift have facilitated the ascent to the top; the latter, with its glass-floored cabins, offers a truly impressive high altitude experience, with spectacular views throughout the journey.

The resort has registered 70,000 visitors who have wanted to enjoy the natural environment of the Ordino Valley, recognized as a Biosphere Book by UNESCO, and the views from the Mirador Solar de Tristaina.

In this way, very similar figures have been reached to those of last summer, when Ordino Arcalís also received 70,000 visitors.

The impressive circular structure, located at an altitude of 2,700 metres, has established itself as one of Andorra's major tourist attractions, with almost 400,000 visitors since its opening in July 2021.

The different activities to discover Ordino's natural landscape

Beyond the Solar de Tristaina viewpoint, the natural environment ofOrdino Arcalísis a destination of incredible beauty, which provides a differential value for lovers of hiking and cycling enthusiasts.

In this sense, during the days that the Tristaina gondola lift has been in operation, the final stretch of the Coma road has been closed to traffic so that cyclists could enjoy the last 4.5 kilometres without vehicles.

This also reinforces the cycling character of the Ordino Arcalís area , which has been a stage finish in the Tour de France on three occasions and in the Vuelta a España on five stages.

For its part, theSorteny Refugewhich is open all year round, has once again become a key point for hikers.

This year, again, there has been a moderate increase in overnight stays in this accommodation, which enjoys a privileged location at an altitude of almost 2,000 metres and is an ideal base for hiking routes and exploring the Sorteny Natural Park.

The most adventurous have been accompanied by Grandvalira Mountain Guides, the resort's expert mountain guides, who this season have launched two new guided routes: one that allows enjoying the sunrise from the Mirador, and another circular route through the Estanys de Tristaina.

These have been added to the existing proposals, such as outings during full moon nights or the observation of the solar phenomenon of the Arcalís peak, which occurs every year around August 7 and allows you to see the sun crossing the mountain for a few minutes.

Countdown to the opening of ski slopes

With the closing of the summer-autumn season, Ordino Arcalís is one hundred percent immersed in preparations for the opening of ski slopes, scheduled for December 5, weather permitting.
