Grandvalira closes the 2013-14 season with the best results in the last 7 years

In the tenth anniversary of Grandvalira, the largest ski resort in the south of Europe has closed one of the most successful seasons in its history achieved the best results in the last 7 years. During the 2013-2014 campaign, the domain has posted a total of 1,615,321 passes sold, 132,321 more than last year, an increase of 9.14%. One of the remarkable record data is also the historical influx of 26,500 visitors held on 29 December. In this line, an indicator that shows the number of visitors is that Grandvalira has welcomed over 10,000 customers per week 56% of its opening days.

The campaign Grandvalira snow has been marked by the best start in terms of snow conditions over the past 20 years. The rainiest month was November 2013, so Grandvalira could open almost at full capacity since the beginning. According to data collected by the task force, along the 145 opening days, the precipitation as snow recorded totaled 6.84 meters distributed fallen snow for 57 days, one of the 39.31% total.

The general director of Grandvalira-Nevasa, Núria Tarré, has very highly this season: "We are delighted by the historic campaign that we have lived for various reasons: for the exceptional snow conditions, for the celebration of our tenth anniversary, the realization of the efforts at strategy and, above all, by the results. "

Defense international markets

The Spanish customer remains the market that provides the bulk of skiers in Grandvalira with a weight of 50.7%. During the snow season, this segment has seen signs of recovery with a slight increase of almost 1% compared to last year. Meanwhile customers proximity of Catalonia have marked an increase of 16%

Grandvalira has also made important strides towards the internationalization of its brand and continued directing its strategy to strengthen the marketing and communication in specific markets. Snow conditions, the growth of international markets and the high penetration of consumer services have an excellent overall rating certificate. Both in the case of the Ski and Snowboard School and the restoration, developments in services (Freeride Center, for example) and infrastructure (new terraces) have been very well received and have encouraged consumption service station.

Positive outcome of events

Grandvalira has organized a total of 95 different racing disciplines and categories throughout the season. The station has received 5 major sporting and entertainment events like the Red Bull Home Run, the GrandRide (Freeride World Qualifier 3 *), the World Cup Kilometer Release, the Final of the European Cup Alpine Skiing and Total Fight Masters of Freestyle (snowboard and freeski), five appointments with international projection that have been resolved successfully.

The prospect of further progress in the organization of top-level testing is another boost for Grandvalira over the coming years, in the Pyrenean domain already has confirmed holding Finals European Cup speed (19 to 22 March 2015), World Cup Alpine Skiing (February 2016) and the organization of the End of the World Cup men's and women's alpine skiing 2017. Grandvalira has, this year, the scene of the 50th anniversary of Soldeu-El Tarter. The station has also activated this season special actions to types of groups such as Snowrugby (French market) and has received the second annual festival of electronic music reference in the Pyrenees: the ElectroSnow.
