Ordino Arcalís is 100% open this Christmas season

Grandvalira Resorts will offer more than 150 skiable kilometers for the Christmas holidays that are just beginning and will have all the connections between the different ski areas operative.

The intense work of the slopes teams together with the drop in temperature has allowed to expand the skiable offer in the Andorran ski areas, where skiers will find some of the best conditions in the Pyrenees at the moment.

Thus, Grandvalira will have 90 km of connected ski slopes, so you can ski from Pas de la Casa to Canillo, passing through Grau Roig, Encamp, Soldeu and El Tarter . will offer 40 km and will operate the connection between the two ski areas through the cable car, and Ordino Arcalís will make 23 km available to skiers.

In addition, the resorts expect temperatures to be favorable for snow production for a few days, so that the skiable area can be expanded during the Christmas holidays, weather permitting.

One of the slopes where intense work is being carried out to open as soon as the conditions are met is the mythical Avet slope, which is being prepared for the big event of February 10 and 11, with the Women's Alpine Ski World Cup. It should also be noted that one of the areas that has already been enabled since Saturday is the Port Negre de Arinsal, with the new chairlift, the great novelty of the season in the resort.

It should be remembered that the beginner areas of the three resorts have optimal snow conditions, which offers an excellent opportunity for beginner skiers who want to start skiing or snowboarding.

Grandvalira has all its ski areas connected by slopes.

Grandvalira, chosen the best resort in the Pyrenees

Grandvalira Resorts have obtained a place in the Top-10 of the prestigious Ski The East Awards, which establish a ranking of the best resorts in Spain, Andorra and the French Pyrenees based on customer surveys.

Grandvalira resort has been the winner and, therefore, chosen as the best resort. Ordino Arcalís has also climbed up to the podium in third position, while Pal Arinsal has been chosen as the 6th best resort out of a total of 50 resorts analyzed.

The alternative proposals to skiing, which are part of the Grandvalira Resorts experience, have also been recognized and Grandvalira has obtained the first position in the categories of resort "with more and better alternatives to skiing" and "with the best restaurant offer". Finally, Grandvalira has also been awarded the prize for the best ski resort "with the best party and après-ski", where the offer of L'Abarset stands out.

Ordino Arcalís, meanwhile, has been recognized as the resort that "best works its slopes", as well as the resort "with the best backcountry", referring to the excellent conditions presented by the resort for the practice of freeride.This is a characteristic for which it is already internationally recognized with events such as the Freeride World Tour, which makes one of its stops every year in the resort.

Pal Arinsal has been awarded in the range of ski resort "with the best accommodation offer", which highlights the wide variety of accommodation proposals offered by the surroundings of the resort, making it ideal for all types of families.

December 24, Santa Claus visit in the snow gardens of Pas de la Casa, Grau Roig and Encamp during the morning and from 11 h in the snow gardens of Soldeu, El Tarter and Canillo.
December 31, at 6 p.m.: Torchlight descent in Soldeu (registration at Soldeu school). Route: Ós piste.
January 3, at 6.30 p.m.: Descent of Lucecitas in Soldeu for boys and girls aged 6-12 years. Route: Ós.
January 5, Electronik Brunch at L'Abarset.
January 5, from 6 p.m.: Descent of Torches (Pas de la Casa), parade and fireworks.

Pal Arinsal:

December 22, last day to visit Santa Claus at the Cow Bella.

Ordino Arcalís:

From December 20 to 25, from 10 am to 12 noon: Santa Claus will ski around the resort; from 12 noon to 12.30 pm he will visit the Planells Snow Garden, and from 1 pm to 3 pm he will collect letters at the Planells restaurant.
December 30 and January 3, from 12.30 pm to 2.30 pm: Magic of proximity with Mag Jorge in Planells.
