La Massana resort has already defined its opening proposal for this season pending to know the evolution of the pandemic and the flexibility of neighboring countries. The strategy has been based on offering the best benefits to both alpine skiing practitioners and the different mountain modalities.
Vallnord - Pal Arinsal started the season at the beginning of January and by now they have already made a general planning. Thus, the resort will maintain the partial opening of its tracks up to Cubil Peak throughout the season. The Coll de la Botella and Setúria area (within the Pal ski area), as well as the Arinsal ski area will be open for the practice of mountain skiing, snowshoeing and others that are not alpine skiing. The director of the resort, Josep Marticella assures that “we have developed a strategy that allows a revitalization of the two ski areas. We have decided to allocate Pal to alpine skiing both for the kilometers of slopes and to ensure the maximum number of skiable days due to weather conditions ”. For their part, ski mountaineering, snowshoeing and other disciplines skiers will have more than 1000 meters of unevenness in the circuit in Arinsal.
The planning will remain the same as these days: during the week, Vallnord - Pal Arinsal will offer a total of 2 lifts (Planell tapes and Sierra II chairlift) that give access to Plan de la Cot and with hours from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. h. As for the weekends, the resort will have accesses available to the Pico de Cubil with a total of 6 lifts: Cintas Piedras Blancas, Cintas La Altiplanicie, Cintas del Plan de la Cot, Chairlift of Sierra II and Chairlift of Cubil, which adds up to a total of 70% of tracks in the Pal ski area.
OTHER SNOW SPORTS WILL ALSO BE AVAILABLE IN THE SKI RESORT
As for the practice of mountain skiing and snowshoeing and others that are not alpine skiing, the Pal and Arinsal ski areas will continue to be enabled with the same conditions as before: tracks and open circuits from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., lifeguard pisters at the two ski areas, provisional access to the Sierra II chairlift, discounts to the resort, among others.
RESTAURANTS AND OTHER ACTIVITIES
During this month of January, alternative activities will be available every weekend from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Regarding the restoration , they will also maintain the same opening planning during the half days as before. During the week, the Expreso restaurant will remain open and on the weekend the Coll de la Botella and Plan de la Cot will also be added. The nightly dining experiences will also maintain the same planning as always: High Mountain dinners in Pla de la Cot and Coll de la Botella on pre-arranged days for all customers, where the possibility of accessing through a small exit is also added. with snowshoes or randonnée or SnowCabine.
