Until next Sunday, April 21, you can ski in the ski resorts of Cauterets and Pic du Midi. The first one is open every day from 8.30 a.m. to 2.00 p.m.; while the most experienced skiers can practice freeride in the other one, if the snow conditions allow it and always accompanied by a local guide.
Cauterets has up to 24 km of ski slopes these days.
The resort of Cauterets, one of the ski resorts with more snow in France for its westernmost orientation on the north face and its location between 1,450 and 2,450 m altitude, offers interesting promotions to continue skiing in its currently 24 kilometers of slopes for these days of spring.
As for the lifts, until the end of the season, the Lys cable car will operate between 8:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.; and the chairlifts and ski lifts between 8:30 a.m. and 14:00h.
Ski instructors from all the resorts of the French Pyrenees meet in Cauterets to celebrate the annual Pyrenees Ski Instructors Challenge, in a more than friendly atmosphere.
The Positive Park of Pau comes to Cauterets this weekend. It does so with laser games and trampolines on the snow for skiers and visitors to enjoy the eternal resort even more.
A snowpark created for the occasion will be installed in the lower part of the resort. New modules, highly motivated riders and the crème de la crème of French skiing and snowboarding are expected to say goodbye together to the season in Cauterets.
In partnership with the ESF, Ogeu and the Cauterets ski club, a fun slalom will be held to enjoy the end of the season. Registration is mandatory at the ESF.
The views from the Pic du Midi are exceptional in these spring days.
The most advanced skiers, lovers of virgin descents have an appointment this spring on the colossus of the Pyrenees. The Pic du Midi de Bigorre offers the most incredible panoramic views at an altitude of 2,877 meters and dozens of kilometers of marked off-piste runs that will remain open until April 21. It is reserved for expert skiers accompanied by a guide.
In just 15 minutes, the cable car departs from La Mongie to the Pic du Midi in two sections. The first is located at Le Taulet (2,341 m) and the second at 2,877 m which takes you directly to the imposing terrace of 750 m2, with the most incredible views over the Pyrenees mountain range.
It has been more than ten years since freeride was first opened on the Pic du Midi, in the 2013-2014 season.
