Grandvalira expects a normal winter in terms of snowfall
The creation of a new skiable area in El Forn (El Tarter), allows Ensisa to offer about six new kilometers of skiable slopes. It is a freeride area created 10 years ago under the name of Encampadana, which will now be improved by marking some of the routes.
To access this new area, a 4-people chairlift with fixed clamp has been installed, which will be called TSF4 Seig. The lift was serving Pal Arinsal under the name TSF4 Port Negre, and its reuse has been possible after the incorporation of this ski resort of the Valls del Nord in Ensisa, creating the new company SETAP365.
In this way, and while waiting for the news to be brought forward in Saetde, the company that manages the other half of this ski area, that is, the slopes of Pas de la Casa and Grau-Roig, Grandvalira will grow to at least 216 kilometers of marked slopes.
This has been assured to the newspaper Altaveu by the Director of Ensida, David Hidalgo, who has also advanced that other investments have been directed to the catering ski area, as well as the improvement of its own snow production with a new lake to accumulate water.
Regarding the forecasts for this season, he assures that the reserves are going at a good pace, over 5% compared to this time last year, but that everything will depend on how the winter behaves. The long-term meteorological data estimate a normal winter, while in the short term a change in the precipitation trend is expected after a dry summer and an autumn that has begun with unusual records for this time of year.
The new chairlift is a 4-people fixed clamp chairlift.
