Baqueira Beretsays goodbye to the Christmas holidays with a very positive balance in both tourism and sports. The resort has offered high quality conditions for skiing with the opening of all its ski areas and a total of 129 km of slopes, far exceeding the skiable kilometres of the last seasons at this time (with a maximum of 115 km in 23-24 and 90 km in 22-23).

Undoubtedly, these conditions have been possible thanks to the investment in snow production and the management of the preparation of the slopes by the mountain teams. During this Christmas season with a large influx of people, services have generally worked optimally, with some important peaks of demand in catering. In addition, both leisure and sporting events have contributed to the enjoyment and satisfaction of skiers.

Perfect weather on the busiest days

The snowfalls before Christmas, together with the snow production and the work of the piste preparation team, have allowed Baqueira Beret to offer exceptional snow conditions throughout the holidays. Especially during the last week of the year, when the unbeatable tandem of good sunshine and low temperatures were combined. The quality has been mostly hard powder snow with thicknesses between 35 cm at high altitudes and 70 cm at low altitudes, due to the wind.

On December 29, the maximum skiable kilometres were opened with 129 km, and from December 28 to 30, up to 76 runs were available for skiers. As for temperatures, the minimum recorded was -6ºC. In addition, there were 7 days of sunshine, mostly between December 26 and 30, 3 days of variable weather and one day of precipitation.

Festive atmosphere and sporting events

The Christmas, New Year and Epiphany festivities were very well attended and the atmosphere was exceptional. Events such as the evening party at the Moët Winter Lounge and the large number of people daily at the Baqueira Bar 1500 at the end of each day are worth mentioning. In addition, there was the traditional torchlight descent on New Year's Eve with 300 particitrousers, the arrival of the Three Wise Men at Baqueira 1500 in a piste-stepping machine and the appearance of Santa Claus with a dog sled. Music has been present with concerts by Amelo d'La Habana at the Hotel Montarto or DJ's playing in the bars on the slopes.

On the other hand, up to 6 sports competitions have been held at the Stadium of Beret that have attracted numerous particitrousers from all over Spain. The last one in the weekend of kings has been the Memorial Montse Corominas-Trophy PwC of CEVA with up to 150 U14 athletes in two events of alpine, giant and slalom, very competitive. Also the AISC Christmas Trophy was held on the 3rd and the AISC Race for categories between U8 and U12 on the 30th. The CEVA on the 29th held the spectacular Era Net Deth 60 Ans.
