Cerler experiences the best weekend of the ski season

According to the ski resort, 70 kilometres of skiing were open today and just a handful of slopes remained unopened. You had to be very skillful to find which ones they were because this week's snowfall has left the mountains completely covered with powder snow. Skiers have enjoyed this Saturday the entire skiable area and all open ski areas.

The change has been radical in just a few days. If last week the maximum was at 75 cm, this Saturday has already reached 130 cm of maximum thickness, which allows to guarantee the month of March in good conditions. For next week, the weather models announce the possibility of more snowfall, which will allow us to arrive with more guarantees for the Easter holidays, which this year falls later, in mid-April.

From base to summit, Cerler has shown its best face of the season.

The influx of skiers has been high in the first moments of the day. Undoubtedly, the clear skies and a weather that has kept the temperature in negative records throughout the day, especially in middle and high altitudes, have encouraged fans to climb early.

There is still a little more than a month ahead of the season. The resort will close its lifts on April 20, and expects to welcome skiers next winter with many important new features. Among them, greater capacity for own snow production, as well as new lifts, including the gondola lift from Benasque, as well as the replacement of the veteran Sarrau tandem chairlift by a four-people fixed grip chairlift.

It should also be noted that this weekend the rest of the Aramón Group resorts also had powder snow thanks to the snowfalls and low temperatures of the last few days, and sunshine.

In the sports area, Formigal hosted the 3rd Phase of the DPD-Inclusive Spanish Cup and the DPD Alpine Spanish Championship. In addition, this Sunday was held the Social CES - Centro Excursionista Soriano on the VideoSlalom track, a time trial in which particitrousers put their technique and speed to the test.
