Planning your ski holiday for season 2022/2023? If you're looking for a ski resort that is snow-sure and has incredible snow conditions throughout the Winter season, then you definitely need to visit the Sierra Nevada Ski Resort !

We're talking about one of the top-rated ski resorts in Europe, where the snow is a guarantee from the end of November until May. There's plenty of snow, and you'll be skiing with the best views of the Mediterranean Sea. Plus, this resort is one of our bestsellers so, you'll find super cheap ski deals with flexible booking dates. This way, all you need to do is book your flights, and we'll work around your travel dates for you ;)

When is the best time to ski in Sierra Nevada Spain

Without a doubt, March and April are the best months to go skiing in Sierra Nevada Spain. The days are longer, the ski resort isn't crowded at all, and the ski rates are fantastic. Check out our last-minute March ski deals in Sierra Nevada and book a super cheap holiday with your friends and family.

In case you didn't know, this ski resort is excellent if you're travelling with children. Why, very simple:

✔ Long bluebird days are a guarantee

✔ Average temperature is of 15/16 °C (59/61 °F)

✔ The Hotels and Apartments are all located within walking distance to the slopes

✔ The ski resort has a total of 67 well-groomed green and blue slopes, and 54 red ones

So, you'll practically walk out of your hotel or apartment and find a rental shop right next door and the access to the slopes opposite. As you'll probably need to book ski and snowboard lessons, there's also a British Ski School (you can pre-order your lessons with Esquiades.com).

What can you do in Sierra Nevada besides skiing?

This is another thing you need to know about skiing in Sierra Nevada . If you're traveling with people who aren't planning on skiing at all, that's absolutely fine. The main square from where you access the resort is called Plaza Pradollano and here there are loads of bars and restaurants where you can all meet up after hitting the slopes.

There's also an area where you can do other snow activities that don't require ski equipment. Just make sure you're wearing warm and waterproof clothes. This area is loads of fun. Try sliding down on a huge inflatable doughnut!

If you're skiing with children in Sierra Nevada, there's a nursery for the little ones, loads of activities and a ski and snowboard school as well.

One last thing, on Esquiades.com you decide how many days you wish to hit the slopes, and we suggest you combine skiing with some sightseeing as you're only a 40-minute drive from Granada, one of the most beautiful cities of Spain and Europe! There's a regular bus service from the ski resort to the city centre that runs until the evening.

What's Granada famous for?

As we were saying, this ski area in the south of Spain has so much more to offer besides skiing and other snow-related activities. Turn your ski holiday into a cultural one and do some sightseeing! Do you know what “tapas” are? They are little tasters of the local cuisine you'll find in different areas of Spain and Granada has one of the top 5 best cuisines of Spain.

Granada is famous for two things: Tapas and Alhambra.

All you need to do to try the local Tapas is to order drinks! Yes, that's right! With each round of drinks, the waiter will bring food over to your table. As we mentioned earlier, Tapas are little tasters of the local cuisine so you'll get to try loads of delicious food while you're sat on a sunkissed terrace drinking a nice cold beer or a glass of wine.

Then there's the Alhambra, a well-preserved Moorish palace. Its interiors are out of this world and the gardens will definitely take you back in time.

The best tourist attractions in Granada.

Here's a list of what we consider are the best spots in Granada that you need to see during your ski holiday in Sierra Nevada ski resort:

1. Alhambra and Generalife

2. Plaza Nueva

3. Bañuelo

4. Alcaicería Market

Good to know: Head to the tourist office and ask about the best flamenco shows and Hammam Arab Baths.

What are the closest airports to Sierra Nevada Spain?

If you need to catch a flight to get to your ski destination, you'll be happy to know that you can fly into three airports : Granada (GRX), Malaga (AGP) and Almeria (LEI). The closest one is Granada, which is only 15 minutes from the city and under an hour from Sierra Nevada Ski Resort.

If you've made it this far in our travel blog, you know everything there is to know about skiing in Sierra Nevada and visiting one of the trendiest ski resorts and cities of Europe.
