The IOT project in Aramón, developed in collaboration with the Aragonese technology consultancy Integra, includes sensorization, the deployment of a telecommunications network and the development of complete interactive dashboards accessible via web for the analysis of all the information collected remotely in each ski resort.
The testbeds are experimentation platforms that show how new technologies and services can be deployed in a useful way in the real world. The Aramón and Integra project has been selected because it can be replicated in other companies concerned about sustainability and the need for better resource management.
The Aramón Group's smart ski resorts project developed in collaboration with Integra Technology has been one of the main protagonists of the TestBeds area of the IoT Solutions World Congress, the main international event on the transformation of industry through new technologies that was held at the Fira de Barcelona from May 21 to 23, with the attendance of more than 12.000 visitors from more than 100 countries, 400 exhibitors and a panel of 250 presentations in the 125 scheduled talks.
The project presented at the Congress comprises an IoT (Internet of Everything) solution that includes complete sensorization of ski resorts, data management and transformation, differentiated hot and cold storage and visualization through interactive dashboards accessible via the web. The solution stands out in the industry for the incorporation of LoRaWAN technology, establishing a long-range private telecommunications network that ensures the reception of real-time data from any point in the network, remotely, minimizing the need for extensive physical infrastructures and therefore the environmental impact.
The end result is a web platform that centralizes all the data and visualizations of the information collected by the different sensors and devices. This platform represents a qualitative leap in the management of ski resorts of the Aramón group, proposing a secure, flexible and scalable operation model that will be implemented progressively in all its facilities. It has started with Formigal Panticosa and will continue next year in Cerler, Javalambre and Valdelinares resorts.
Aramon and Intergra partners to implement IoT in ski resorts
With this development, the Aramón Group demonstrates its commitment to sustainability and efficient resource management by incorporating IoT solutions that allow better control and analysis of numerous variables (temperature, electricity consumption, wind speed, etc.) with the aim of turning its winter resorts into intelligent and sustainable ski resorts. This places it at the forefront in the application of advanced technologies for the snow tourism ski area.
The Aramón e Integra stand recreated the main elements of a ski resort and offered visitors the chance to live an immersive experience by riding a gondola lift that transported them to the snowy peaks of the Aragonese Pyrenees.
In addition, the entire space was instructored with different IoT devices that measured in real time environmental parameters, influx of people or a LoRaWAN telecommunications network. The whole set became a live scenario that reflected how a real project of instructoring of intelligent ski resorts through IoT technology is in practice.
All Aramón ski resorts will have implemented the IoT system.
The test benches, where the Aramón and Integra stand was located, was an exclusive area made up of 10 stands where it was shown how new technologies and services (IoT solutions) can be implemented in the ski resorts. The testbeds, where Aramón and Integra's stand was located, was an exclusive area made up of 10 stands that showed how new technologies and services (industrial IoT solutions, cybersecurity solutions, digital twins, artificial intelligence, augmented reality and disruptive technologies) can be deployed in a useful way and gave IoT World Congress attendees the opportunity to experience the most advanced and innovative solutions.
Integra is an Aragonese technology consulting firm that has been providing specialized services around technology, consulting and training since 1986. Integra employees were present at the Aramón stand.
The IoT Solutions World Congress, held May 21-23, 2024 in Barcelona, is the world's leading event in the field of disruptive technologies applied to industry. This congress brings together global experts and companies to explore how the Internet of Things (IoT), along with other emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and cybersecurity, are transforming industrial ski areas.
This was the eighth edition of the congress and addressed the potential of semiconductors and had China as the guest country. The IOTSWC is divided into four different areas: congress, exhibition area, activities and security and cybersecurity.
