Sierra Nevada opens the Yeguas lagoon and reaches 55 kilometers of skiable terrain

Sierra Nevada opens this Wednesday, weather permitting, the area of Laguna de las Yeguas, the favourite area of expert skiers, with which the Granada winter resort will reach 55 kilometers, the largest skiable area so far in the 2023/24 season.

The opening of the Laguna has been possible thanks to the intense work of the machinists who, twice, have had to condition the area, since the storm Karlota spoiled much of the tread of the main slopes of the area when it was ready to open slopes.

With the access of the Laguna in the snow report , two more ski areas of the slope La Trucha, the Cuesta de las Artesillas and the Olympic slope in its entirety, as well as Puerta Laguna, which gives access to the area from the slopes of Veleta, are enabled.

The quality of snow in Laguna is hard powder and the thickness fluctuates between 20 and 35 centimeters. The Laguna chairlift will be the lift serving the area.

On the other hand, the machine service has been able to recover today the Maribel slope that was affected days ago by the flow of water, mud and snow that also affected the El Río slope.
