In the winter of its 60th anniversary, the ski resort ofBaqueira Beretpresents new features that seek to make the skier's life easier: rearrangement of layouts for a smoother glide through the resort with the addition of three new slopes, bringing the total to 122.

In addition, the Baqueira 1500 service area has been completely renovated with improved access to the gondola lift, information office and Baqueira Store, where you can pick up your equipment and go directly to the ski lifts.

The resort plans to open its facilities on November 30 and finish on April 21, conditions permitting. The investments seek to make it increasingly practical, comfortable and easy to enjoy Baqueira Beret, achieving a unique winter experience.

About the snow

Three new slopes have been added, including the Bosc de Peülla 2, which is a black one in the Bonaigua area with a length of 514 m, a drop of almost 200 m. and an average gradient of 40% with a starting elevation of 2,239 m.

Another new route is Barqueta 2, last year Barqueta 1 was released and this winter the offer is extended to go from Baqueira to Argulls through this red of 430 m in length and 143 m of slope and an average gradient of 35%.

The last one in the race is called 2200 as it is located at this elevation of Baqueira and ends at the restaurant of the same name. It is a 220 m long track, with a gradient of 57 m and an average slope of 27%.

Other actions in layouts are the remodeling to facilitate links or accesses along the domain. Of particular note is the widening of Ta Cabanes, in the Dossau area, and the Pla de Beret 2.

In Baciver, it is worth mentioning the works carried out in Orqueta 1 and 2, in addition to the access to the Ta Baciver 2 run. With the three new runs plus the links, the resort now has 122 routes with 167 km of marked runs and 4 itineraries, a total length of 171 km.

On a sporting level, the 4th edition of the Freeride World Tour will be held in Baciver from January 18 to 23 with the best international ski and snowboard riders and for the first time the FIS European Cup of SL men will be held in the Stadium de Beret on February 6 and 7.

In view of the European Cup on February 6 and 7, improvements have been made in the Stadium Fernandez Ochoa de Beret, FIS approved track for competition, with enlargement of the Slalom (SL) start area and the arrival area gaining in safety for braking, new goal screen for clear display of results and three new snowmakers in the SL start area.

Skiing in Baqueira

Snow production has been increased with 31 new snowmakers.

➤ 3 low pressure snowmakers with platform in zone 1500 to ensure the Homecoming.

➤ Another 4 new snowmakers in the busy 1800 zone.

➤ 16 new snowmakers in Bonaigua, 14 on the piste of the same name and 2 in Debutants.

➤ 5 new snowmakers on the Audi Ski Kronos and

➤ the aforementioned 3 new snowmakers at Stadium (both in Beret).

Over the years, Baqueira has been perfecting its system, managing to reduce energy consumption by up to 70% compared to the old methods. The current total is 850 snowmakers.

The investment in snow is never complete if it is not accompanied by its treatment, so two new snow grooming machines have been acquired: one with Winch (Cablestrante) and the other conventional. Both are equipped with SnowSAT system to locate and measure snow thickness for greater efficiency and effectiveness in snow grooming.

Services to make skiing and snowboarding easier in Baqueira Beret

Total remodeling of the services at 1500 m elevation in the central area of Baqueira with a new Customer Service area and brand new offices for Viajes Baqueira, administration, marketing, information points and ski pass sales. This work has also improved access to the Baqueira gondola lift.

New location for ski rental and repair with Baqueira Store in Baqueira 1500. Much more accessible and practical to pick up the equipment and start skiing directly. With these changes, the Ski Storage lockers in 1500 have also been relocated. From this season onwards, all Ski Service establishments will be under the umbrella of the Baqueira Store name.
