Sierra Nevada enters into a snowfall period that will continue for more days.

Sierra Nevada has registered between 30 and 35 centimetres of new snow in the upper half of the ski area; and between 10 and 15 in the lower half in areas of the Rio or Loma Dílar, and in the urbanization of Pradollano.

The precipitations began last Saturday, and have been falling intermittently accompanied at all times of strong gusts of wind, which forced to close the station on Saturday. Yesterday, Sunday, the full operation of the facilities was also complicated by this gale, which today continues to cause problems, especially in the operation of the lifts located at higher altitudes such as the Zayas chairlift or the Laguna chairlift.

This same wind, which limits the settlement of the snow in certain points of the skiable areas, is also causing the accumulation of significant amounts of snow in windbreaks and natural snowdrifts.

This is the best succession of snowfalls so far this winter season, and allows us to predict a great last third of the 2024-2025 ski season.

The Slopes Service will be assessing in the coming hours the effect that these snowfalls will have on the skiing offer, which will undoubtedly improve both in quantity and quality. The forecast indicates that this cycle of snow precipitation will continue during the week.
