#Val Thorens Ski Resort Info
Val Thorens is the highest resort in Europe and the highest point in Les 3 Vallées (the largest ski resort in the world). There’s a total of 140 km of pistes and the slopes here suit everyone from beginners to experts skiers and snowboarders but, it's in general a dream for intermediates. All levels can travel to the heights of the Cime de Caron for the long red run and blue run served by the cable car, and forays into the territories of Les Menuires and St Martin de Belleville.
# Things to do for non-skiers in Val Thorens
Alternative activities on the slopes include two exciting zipwires. La Tyrolienne at 3,230m connects the Orelle and Val Thorens ski areas with a flight of over 1,300m up to 250m above the ground, taking nearly two minutes. Above the village there’s La Bee, a double wire open to pedestrians and skiers for a flight of 1,800 metres of lenght and 65 metres of height above the ground.
# Après-ski in Val Thorens
The nightlife in Val Thorens is young and surprisingly vibrant for a purpose-built resort in France. The party reputation is partly due to the fact Val Thorens attracts plenty of university ski holidays, and there is La Folie Douce for on-the-mountain parties on the Plein Sud piste.
For those in search of a quieter night out, the upmarket hotels and residences house classy bars. And for something a little different, the Igloo Village with bar and restaurant is at 2,400m, a 30-minute walk from the resort centre.
