Cerler expands its skiing area with new ski slopes

On the map, the three main novelties of this year in Cerler

Signed again by the Frederic et Pierre Novat studio, the Cerler ski resort has presented its new piste plan, in which it can be seen that it will grow this coming season from the current 80 to 81 skiable kilometres.

A small expansion resulting mainly from the recovery and improvement of the route, in the El Molino ski area, of the old Abedules piste that goes down from Cota 2000 to Molino 1500 and that practically ceased to be used with the creation of the main descent of Le Pllanes.

This action will make it easier for practically any skier to return home, regardless of his or her level.

Skiing in Cerler

The "new" Abedules now modifies its route and can be taken from the continuation of the path of Les Pilanes, from the base of the Rincón del Cielo chairlift, until it crosses the old route that came down from the area of the base of Telesquí Puentet, to go out to the last part of Les Pllanes in the vicinity of Molino 1500.

To ensure that it is open the maximum number of days, the route has been conditioned along its entire route and equipped with snowmakers as shown on the map.

At the same time, this amendment of the route allows us to add a few more metres to the 9K, the longest continuous descent of 1130m of skiable vertical drop in the Pyrenees.

Get a head start on the season

The other great novelty in slopes is in the Ampriu ski area. The La Olla piste modifies its route in the final part and deviates towards the base of the Batisielles four-people chairlift by an old route instead of going out to the Ixarsos piste or arriving at the Ampriu chairlift.

The so-called 'love' chairlift, which had been out of service for several seasons, finally disappears from the map (in principle nothing has been mentioned about its replacement).

This tandem chairlift was installed in 1978 and was the "twin" of the Sarrau chairlift. After its replacement, it would have remained as the oldest chairlift in the Cerler ski resort and practically at the end of its useful life.

If we talk about ski lifts, the map shows the replacement of the Sarrau TS, which goes from a two-people to a new four-people , and the remodeling and snowmaking of the Sarrau road slope, which is another of the novelties reflected in the map.

The new Benasque cable car does not appear. Sign that finally we will not be able to use it for the first time this coming ski season.

And on the other hand, the left side of the map, in the Castanesa ski area, has been given much more space, as if it was sensing future developments in that area.
