Sierra Nevada is the snowiest ski resort in Europe and almost the world.

With a month and a half left in the season, the Sierra Nevada ski resort arrives at the spring ski season with excellent conditions. At least in terms of amount of snow at the moment. Up to four metres can be measured in the Veleta ski area. In fact it does not go below 250 cm in any of its areas.

In this way, the southernmost resort in Europe is the one with more snow in our continent. Something that at this time is quite common, but this year has become more noticeable by a very generous winter snowfall in the Iberian Peninsula while in much of the northern hemisphere have been begged.

In fact, in North America, despite the fact that Mt Baker leads the world ranking, this winter is considered one of the worst of this century. Not only has it not snowed in the Rockies or in the California area, but it has not snowed with any generosity in March (except for some exceptional snowfall in Utah a week ago).

However, in the Alps, although the snowfall started very poorly and remained so throughout January, in mid-February snow began to fall in more abundance. However, the fact that they had so little precipitation until well into the winter, has been noticed both in the accumulated and in the current thicknesses.

Something similar happened in Japan, where it did not snow until mid-winter, although afterwards it fell a lot, something usual in those latitudes, which has allowed several of its stations to be included in this top-10.

The Iberian Peninsula has been the great beneficiary this winter. And in fact, in addition toSierra Nevada , we also have Ordino Arcalís and Candanchú also in this top-10 ski resorts with more snow in the world.
