Snowfalls of more than 5 cm in the Pyrenees and the Alps over the last weekend in August

Who would have guessed that it would snow over the last weekend in August! Well, the Pyrenees and the Alps were lucky enough to see snow due to a huge cold polar airmass and they heavy rains over the weekend. 

 

There's been snow from 2,400 metros and up to 5 cm in depth! Snowfalls during the summer break aren't usual especially on those low levels!
