The SkiPallars stations prepare for a Carnival with full occupancy • Port-Ainé will celebrate this weekend the Catalan Championship of Slopestyle in the modalities of freeski and snowboard.
• The assistance of the Spanish slopestyle team and the best Catalan specialists is confirmed.
• The slopes are in perfect condition thanks to the latest snowfall and low temperatures. Snow powder and sun will prevail these days.
• The hotels in the region of Pallars provide the full face of the Carnival weekend.
The stations of SkiPallars, Espot and Port-Ainé, will present this weekend an optimal state, where the powder snow and the sun, according to the weather forecast, will be predominant. The intense cold and the snow of the past week have contributed favorably to improve the winter aspect of the two seasons and the state of the slopes, which today present a perfect state for the practice of the different modalities of skiing and snowboarding.
The best Catalan freestyle meets at the Port-Ainé station Next weekend, 11th and 12th of February, and for the second consecutive year, the Port-Ainé station will host the Catalan Slopestyle Championship in the modalities of free skiing and snowboarding. After the postponement of the competition due to bad conditions last weekend, the best Catalan riders will compete for the title in a special circuit prepared for the occasion that will combine several lines with artificial modules and jumps of up to 15 meters, where the judges will value the style and the execution of the tricks in the two rounds that each rider will be able to perform on the prepared circuit.
The test is framed within the 1st. Liga Freestyle Pyrenees of the FCEH. On Saturday the qualifying rounds and the snowboard finals will be played and Sunday will be the turn of the skiers.
The participation of the members of the slopestyle Spanish team in the discipline of snowboarding, as well as the best Catalan specialists, has been confirmed.
Success under the snow of the Catalan Racket Circuit Test in Port-Ainé Neither the intense snow nor the freezing cold temperatures -20 ºC that were recorded last Sunday in Port-Ainé prevented more than 60 people from completing the full course of the FEEC Racquet Catalan Circuit Test until the Pic de l'Orri a 2,440 meters.
The Independent Excursionist Club of Catalonia (CEI) showed its satisfaction for the success of the test and once the tour was over the participants could enjoy a snack at the Hotel Port-Ainé 2000.
The Carnival arrives in Pallars with good hotel occupancy figures As it is already a tradition, the Carnival in the Pallars Sobirà region is accompanied by a good snow environment in the ski resorts and offers of accommodation and very attractive ski passes.. The hotels foresee good occupancy figures for the weekend of 18 and 19 February and a good influx of skiers is expected on the slopes. At SkiPallars resorts, customers who want to ski next Saturday February 18 will have a special promotion with which they can benefit from a special price of € 17.50 if they come completely disguised to the station.
