A group of skiers wait their turn to board a Grandvalira chairlift.

The resorts of Andorra increase investment up to 39 million euros for the new winter season.

The resorts of GrandvaliraResorts have presented this Monday the new features for this ski season 2025-2026, which is scheduled to start next December 5 and will last until April 6, weather permitting.

Ordino Arcalís, Pal Arinsal and Grandvalira face the fourth joint season under the umbrella of Grandvalira Resorts maintaining the commitment to the constant improvement of its infrastructure and services. The total investment for this season practically doubles compared to last winter and grows by 86 % to 39 million euros, becoming one of the highest investment figures of the Andorran ski areas in recent years. By resorts:

One of the main bets for this winter is the snow guarantee, as explained by the marketing director of Grandvalira Resorts, David Ledesma. In fact, of the 39 million total investment, nearly 11 million euros correspond to improvements in snow production and snowmaking on the slopes.

Skiing In Andorra

In addition, Andorra 's resorts have made great improvements in the innovation and digitalization section with the arrival of the new Mobile Pass, one of the main novelties for this season, for which the Principality 's ski areas will become the first in the Pyrenees to incorporate the ski pass on the cell phone.

Investments have also focused on new infrastructures and facilities, such as the multifunctional building in Pas de la Casa, a new ski lift in the El Tarter ski area, the extension of the TK Eslàlom in Soldeu or a new conveyor belt in Ordino Arcalís, among others.

Likewise, Andorra's ski areas continue to diversify their offer with new experiences, improving the restaurant services, après-ski and theski and snowboardschool. Finally, the commitment to sustainability has been reaffirmed with the objectives of continuing to reduce CO₂ emissions and increase the self-production of renewable energy, among other actions.

All this in a winter in which Andorra 's ski resorts will once again host major sporting events, with the return of the Alpine skiing World Cup to Grandvalira, the first FIS Freeride World Cup in Ordino Arcalís, or the ISMF Comapedrosa World Cup in Pal Arinsal, among other competitions.

Snow guarantee

The Andorran resorts are firmly committed to offering a quality experience to visitors with optimal conditions throughout the season, guaranteeing a minimum of 66% of the snow-covered ski area with produced snow, and therefore each year they invest heavily in optimizing the snowmaking network and reinforcing snow production in an increasingly efficient and sustainable manner.

This year the commitment continues to grow. In fact, a record investment has been made in improvements to the snowmaking network, reaching almost 11 million euros between the three resorts of Grandvalira Resorts.

Among the novelties highlighted in this section is the installation of 53 new snow cannons that expand the snowmaking network and the replacement of 118 units with more efficient models, which consume 90% less energy. Work has also been done to improve the profile of the slopes to optimize snow production and reduce water and energy consumption . In addition, Grandvalira has been a pioneer in the Pyrenees in the implementation of a new cooling system for the water basins in the Canillo ski area, which reduces energy consumption by 90 %.

Also noteworthy are the two new water reservoir projects that will be ready for the following season. On the one hand, the new Llac del Vaquer reservoir, in the Grau Roig ski area, will have a capacity of 100,000 m³, while the one in the Coma de Ordino Arcalís area will have a capacity of 36,000 m³. A new snow production room has also been built in Grau Roig, which allows multiplying by 2.5 the instant snowmaking capacity in the Pas de la Casa ski area, while the same has been done in Ordino Arcalís to reinforce the capacity of the resort to ensure optimal conditions throughout the season. In the same sense, the Soldeu - El Tarter ski areas have installed a total of 3 km of new pipes that increase the instantaneous flow by 400 m³/h up to 4,000 m³/h.

On the other hand, in Arinsal the renovation of the snow production management system has been completed, so that it will be more efficient and modern, and the beginners area of this ski area has also enjoyed a reform that improves the production and management of snow.

Likewise, thanks to the technology applied to the snow grooming machines through the Leica and Snowsat systems, it will be possible to reduce snow production by 20%, thus achieving a much more efficient management of resources, optimizing water consumption, as well as gasoline consumption in the use of snow grooming machines.

Mobile Pass: the ski pass on your cell phone

Grandvalira Resorts takes a new giant step forward in the digitization of services in order to continue facilitating the experience for visitors and has presented a new revolution in the ski ski area in the Pyrenees: the Mobile Pass. The new digital ski pass will allow you to have the pass on your cell phone and access the lifts without having to take it out of your pocket.

The implementation of the Mobile Pass will be done progressively, starting this season with the Adult 1 to 3-day passes, and other products such as Season Passes, among others, will be gradually incorporated.

Purchases can be made both through the APP and the official websites of Grandvalira Resorts, thus avoiding having to go through the ticket office, which will be a great time saver, and it will be necessary to have the Grandvalira Resorts APP to use it.

To make this possible, all the ski lift accesses of the three ski resorts have been renewed, that is, a total of 244 turnstiles. These new devices automatically detect the mobile ski pass using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology, which facilitates fast and secure access.

The new turnstiles also incorporate the Smart Guard anti-fraud system , based on artificial intelligence, which makes it possible to control the improper use of day and season ski passes based on the photographic control of users.

Other improvements in the digital ecosystem of Grandvalira Resorts

The Grandvalira Resorts APP incorporates other new features, such as the Wifi button, a new functionality through which users will be able to connect their devices automatically to the wifi of all ski resorts by pressing a single button. It will also have a digital wallet where all the vouchers for school bookings, restaurants and other resort services will be stored.

In this sense, after the great success of downloads obtained last season, the application will continue to offer the sale of eSIM to connect to the Andorra mobile network easily and quickly, and at the most competitive prices on the market.

New developments on the slopes

The works that began last year for the new multifunctional building being built directly on the slopes of Pas de la Casa continue at a good pace, so that this winter some provisional spaces such as the lockers, the ski school and equipment rental will be able to open. The building will be officially inaugurated for the 2026-2027 season, and will have a total surface area of 3,200 m² distributed over two floors.

This year, the second phase of construction of the TK Eslàlom ski lift was completed, which consisted of extending this equipment to 556 m and a 229 m drop. This lift was inaugurated last season and gives access to the Eslàlom Creand Stadium, a black run approved by the FIS for high-level training and which during the season has welcomed skiers from the Andorran Ski Federation as well as international competitors. It has also been remodeled to include a new 58-meter-long tunnel underneath it to facilitate circulation in the area.

On the other hand, the beginners' area in the Pla de Ribaescorjada in the El Tarter ski area has been enlarged with the reintroduction of an associated ski lift that has been named TK Refugi, with a length of 70 metres and will be able to transport 720 skiers/hour. Another substantial change has been the dismantling of the TK Bosc in Soldeu to convert the area into a new freeride area.

In the El Tarter ski area, this winter the new Turbo Snow Explorers circuit can be enjoyed, a route that incorporates a tunnel, animations and obstacles, especially designed for the enjoyment of the youngest skiers.

Pal Arinsal has two new Fun Cross circuits, designed to add fun to the descent, with banked curves, small jumps and various elements that allow you to play with technique and speed.

Another outstanding novelty in the Pal ski area is the new car park for motorhomes in La Caubella, which will have space for 30 cars and will include most of the necessary services for those who spend the night there.

In Ordino Arcalís, one of the improvements that skiers will discover is the redesign of the famous Megaverda, the longest green run in the Pyrenees at 8.5 km, which has been transformed into a new Kids Forest , becoming an immersive experience designed for children and families. In addition, newcomers will also find in the Coma area a new conveyor belt with a length of 100 m and a transport capacity of 1,000 people/hour.

Prepare for the season

A break to enjoy the gastronomy

Following the line of recent seasons, Grandvalira Resorts consolidates and expands its commitment to quality gastronomy, incorporating new experiences, renovated spaces and collaborations with prestigious chefs. The aim is to continue positioning itself as a reference in the Pyrenees not only for its sports offer, but also for a varied, modern and high level culinary proposal that complements the ski day and après-ski.

Grau Roig

The renowned chef Nandu Jubany, with a Michelin star and five Repsol suns, strengthens its link with Grandvalira with new proposals in addition to the Vodka Bar and the Brasserie Piolet, two of last winter's novelties. Thus, Jubany expands its collaboration with the resort by taking over the restoration of the Tub bulthaup as well as with the implementation of La Vacanal, its new line of gourmet burgers, in the Coma III restaurant in the Grau Roig ski area. This ski area is also reinforced with La Suculenta, which will bring to the slopes the urban experience of the Andorran brand's artisan smash burgers in a young space with a panoramic terrace.

Soldeu- El Tarter

The Soldeu - El Tarter ski areas incorporate proposals that will extend the day beyond skiing, such as the Jean Leon Classic Nights with themed dinners and live music; the Rando'n'izza initiative, which combines night adventure with Italian gastronomy at La Trattoria in the El Tarter ski area ; and theoriginal Neu-Flix, an open-air cinema at more than 2.In addition, the IQOSTerrace reinforces its identity with premium smash burgers and live performances, consolidating Grandvalira as a stage where the mountain merges with cuisine, culture and entertainment.

On the other hand, the Snow Club Gourmet celebrates its 8th edition in the ski areas of Soldeu - El Tarter and consolidates as a reference appointment of haute cuisine and snow. This season, the program includes four exceptional days.

Pal Arinsal

Pal Arinsal renews this wintertwo of its most emblematic restaurants . El Terroir, located in Arinsal, launches the concept "Quick bites, real roots", with a proposal of agile and healthy international cuisine designed for the pace of skiers. In the Pal ski area, Rústic reinvents itself with the "Rôtisserie" concept, offering homemade and roasted dishes prepared with local products.

Ordino Arcalís

La Coma Restaurant in Ordino Arcalís also presents a program of exclusive dinners during the season, coinciding with special nights such as full moon nights. In addition, the resort has renovated the interior of the Refugi de les Portelles restaurant.

Festivals, music and après-ski non-stop

L'Abarset has already established itself as the après-ski reference in the Pyrenees for those who want to live a vibrant winter, as shown by the continuous 'sold-out' sessions. This winter the famous venue will host internationally renowned names such as Adam Beyer, Nina Kraviz, 2 Many DJs, Paco Osuna, Toman or East End Dubs, among others. Collaborations with Brunch Electronik and Bresh will also be back , as well as the "L'After" format, which allows to extend the party at the venue until 2 am.

The Hibernation Festival of Pas de la Casa will return from March 20 to 22, 2026, with its seventh edition. The event, which brings together more than 10,000 attendees, has established itself as one of the most important electronic events in the Pyrenees.

New activities beyond skiing

Grandvalira presents novelties that reinforce the offer of activities and the comfort of visitors. In the Grau Roig ski area, the new building of the Roc Roi Adventure center, a self-sustainable structure with solar panels that improves the service and incorporates Food Trucks to create rest areas.

Also added are the new proposals of the expert mountain guides, with ice climbing and Dry Tooling activities. In addition, this winter the Grandvalira Tour is being promoted, a product to discover the slopes and emblematic points of the resort with a school instructor.

With regard to family and children's activities, the snowshoeing project "Rastres de l'hivern", designed for children from 6 to 12 years of age, stands out. In addition, the Exploradors del Refugi de Pal area inaugurates four children's circuits for snowshoeing and snowtrek, a proposal that seeks to encourage contact with nature and physical activity outdoors.

Likewise, Pal Arinsal reaffirms itself as the Ski & Bike resort par excellence in the Pyrenees, thanks to its Bike Park, which will reopen this winter, weather and snow conditions permitting. Thus, you can enjoy cycling and skiing at the same time with the five routes enabled in the lower area of the Bike Park, a total of 16 kilometres of trails and 700 m of vertical drop.

Sustainability and the environment

In the last 10 years, Andorra's resorts have invested more than 200 million euros, a significant part of which has been allocated to projects to promote renewable energies, energy saving and self-production of energy.

In this last section, the three resorts have promoted various infrastructures for the production and use of renewable energies, including the Ordino Arcalí mini-hydroelectric power station s mini-hydroelectric plant, inaugurated in 2016, the Pessons mini-hydroelectric plant in Grandvalira, in operation since the 2022-2023 season, or the Parc Solar del Planell de la Tosa de Pal Arinsal, with 22.000 m² of active solar panels from 2021.

This year, a new photovoltaic park has been inaugurated at the Funicamp intermediate station, which will produce up to 1.2 GW, which, added to those already generated by the solar panels distributed throughout the station's different buildings and the mini-hydroelectric plant, will be able to produce up to 1.2 GW.This will increase Grandvalira 's self-production capacity to 16.5% of the energy it consumes throughout the year, 10.5% more than last season.

Moreover, taking into account that Ordino Arcalís is 100 % self-sufficient and Pal Arinsal has grown up to 50 % of renewable energy production with the new agreement with Nord Andorrà, all Grandvalira Resorts will now self-produce 30 % of the energy they consume during the year.

Another of the projects that Andorra's resorts promote is sustainable mobility, with the installation every year of new charging points for electric vehicles directly on the slopes. This year, six have been installed in Pas de la Casa, bringing the total number of charging points for electric vehicles in all ski areas of Grandvalira Resorts to 119, allowing owners of electric vehicles to charge their vehicles while enjoying their day's skiing.

Renewed brand hotel offers

Grandvalira Resorts has once again relied on the internationally prestigious agency VML The Cocktail, from the international advertising holding company WPP, to create the resorts' branding hotel offers for this winter.

Four seasons ago Grandvalira launched the brand platform L'hivern infinit, with the aim of building a differential proposal that raised the attributes and perception of the resort, the largest in the Pyrenees and southern Europe, and where you can live an infinite number of experiences and sensations that remain forever, that is, they are infinite.

Last year it went a step further with the creation of its own hymn, composed by Ale Acosta and performed with the Orquesta Nacional d'Andorra, as a creative resource to connect emotionally with visitors,

Last season, Pal Arinsal inaugurated a new hotel offer that brought together the values of the mountain and the resort through Som muntanya, Som Ski&Bike. A hotel offer that brings together the values of the mountain and recalls that Pal Arinsal is the ski area of reference among all audiences both in winter, with a complete ski deal, and in summer, with its prestigious Bike Park.

Ledesma has indicated that

For the third season, Ordino Arcalís focuses the winter hotel offer on its customers, the Indomables, who have made the resort a reference in the Pyrenees. In this winter hotel offer
