Snow already buries ski lifts in Sierra Nevada ski resort

The squall Jana, Konrad and now Laurence, have left abundant snowfall in the ski resort of Granada. Currently, up to 3 metres of snow has already accumulated in many areas of the winter resort, while waiting for the new official measurements after the last precipitations.

The works have been focused today on digging out many of the facilities. This Tuesday morning the staff found the belts completely covered with snow, and a similar situation in the arrival terminals of the ski lifts, which has delayed the opening of the facilities.

The resort will initially establish tomorrow the extreme danger of avalanches (5/5) in Veleta, Laguna and Loma de Dílar, where partial openings will be conditioned to the evaluation by resort technicians.

In the rest of the areas the risk is very high (4/5), so it is recommended that users respect the signage and not ski off-piste.
