El Dorado Freeride commemorates the 15th anniversary with important novelties in Vallnord-Arcalís
This Friday, February 24, the backdrop of El Dorado Freeride (EDF) is raised with important news. The competition commemorates its 15th edition after receiving the highest rating of the Freeride World Qualifier (4 stars). In this way, Vallnord-Arcalís will meet this weekend the best international riders, who attend the Andorran station by ranking. Notwithstanding this, the EDF proposes an Open version for this Friday, with 10 places available for the previous championship.
The organization of El Dorado Freeride has confirmed that several riders have excelled in previous editions of this event will compete as guests at the Open that will take place in Vallnord-Arcalís this Friday. In the modality of snowboarding, Bruno de la Barrera has been one of the most faithful riders of the EDF. He has participated in 14 editions and last year he got 2nd place. This time he is accompanied by other referents of the state snow, such as Ramón Barbé and Sergio Arjona.
In the female category, Monica Font will compete. The Andorran snowboarder won in 2010 and has participated in 8 editions of the EDF. Now, you must convince the judges to win one of the places for Saturday's qualifying. In the skiing event, Juliana Gonzalez, David Sanabria and Joan Pallas will participate in a special edition of El Dorado Freeride, which this year brings together the best international riders, since the world circuit has decided that the race that takes place in Vallnord-Arcalís have 4 stars, the highest qualification of the Freeride World Qualifier.

A total of 84 freeriders (80 of the chosen by ranking and 4 who have won a wild card) will compete this Friday at Portella del Mig Arcalís. The top 10 will qualify for the Saturday Preview (3 in men's skiing, 3 in women's skiing, 2 in men's snowboarding and 2 in women's snowboarding).
The Andorran expedition that will be present in the open competition are, in skiing mode, the riders Eric Urigüen and Guillem Fernández. Team Freeride Vallnord member Dani Fornell will also be present even though he will participate directly in Saturday's qualifiers.
On the other hand, today Thursday will be the second edition of Jam Extrem in the Arcalís de Vallnord sector. A freeride test scored by the Freeride circuit of the Pyrenees has 38 registered riders. The four winners of this competition will be those who will have the four wild cards to participate in the El Dorado Freeride Open on Friday.
