Easter holidays are the big farewell to the season. However, the resort will be open until Sunday, April 7, weekend in which the Polar Sound music festival will be held while on Saturday 30 will be offered free Smile concert in Beret. After the 10 cm snowfall of March 26, the forecast for the next few days is for the opening of more than 100 skiable km and approximately 70 slopes with maximum thicknesses of 155 cm of snow.

The changeable weather has left snow on all the ski resort's peaks with sunny windows like the one on the 27th to enjoy it. That is the culmination that the weather seems to provide for an Easter with a spring atmosphere in which the trees in bloom in the lower parts of the Val d'Aran and Valls d'Àneu contrast with the peaks of the Pyrenees still with plenty of snow.

With this range of colors typical of the transition from winter to spring, Baqueira Beret ensures skiing and snowboarding at the highest level with the opening of more than 100 km of slopes and up to a meter and a half of maximum thickness on the slopes.

Beyond the pleasure of sliding on the snow, the calendar of late March and early April comes with lots of music.

Smile's surf style in Beret

Smile will perform in Beret on Saturday, March 30.

The group Smile, which will play in Beret on Saturday March 30 at 13.30, was born in Getxo as a trio, with the English surfer and cartoonist John Franks at the head. They played in its beginnings, 20 years ago, in bars and trendy bars near the sea of Uribe Kosta, always with an eye on acoustic music inspired by the 60s.

In 2007, already as a quartet, they released their debut album, "Painting The Sun One Colour" with ten cheerful songs with American influences that brought them some success, with concerts outside Euskadi and, mainly, by managing to enter the surf circuit, ideal for a group like Smile, as it allowed them to surf during the day and play at night.

Their musical career has continued to mix surfing philosophy and devotion to Californian harmonies with certain rocker twists. Their fifth and latest album, presented in January, is "Rayo Verde" with a mix of pop and folk, entirely sung in Spanish and with a clear "good vibes" message.

Polar Sound, Baqueira 1500 to blow of festival

One more year, the Polar Sound returns to Baqueira's 1500 mt.

The Polar Sound Festival is scheduled for Friday 5 and Saturday April 6 in the car park lot of Baqueira 1500 and in its fourth edition continues to offer a lineup of artists and Spanish pop-rock groups.

Confirmed for the 2024 edition are Ana Mena, Taburete, Arde Bogotá, Álvaro de Luna, La Oreja de Van Gogh, Veintiuno, Malmo 040, Despistaos, José de Rico, Danny Romero, Barce, Barce, Luigii Nieto, Ardiya and Caco Monteverde.

Access to the enclosure will be open to people over 18 years old, and those over 16 years old with authorization and accompanied by their father, mother or guardian.

There will be only one stage inside a huge tent, whose assembly is already visible these days in the 1500 car park lot, so that no two artists will coincide at the same time. The festival will close at 3 a.m. and all payments inside the venue will be made through the cashless wristband system. We recommend all those who wish to attend the festival to park their vehicles in the Ruda covered car park lot.
