Vallnord Pal-Arinsal breaks records this summer with more than 70 thousand customers and € 2 million

Vallnord - Pal Arinsal said goodbye to the summer this Tuesday, October 12 with very positive figures. The resort closes the summer exceeding its objectives: it generates 2.3 million euros, 15% more than the 2019 season , the year that hosted the UCI BTT World Cup (and 43% more than the 2020 season). The most important increases in this turnover have been noted in Snowplus, with an increase of 79%, in Mountain Park activities with an increase of 54% , merchandising products with 19%, and finally, in restaurant services with a growth of 5% . For the first time in history, it equals the percentage of winter and summer turnover (to take into account the atypical winter season 2020-2021) being 50/50 and becoming a record summer in turnover.

In terms of occupancy, a total of 74,708 customers have been received in the different services offered by the resort . The day with the most influx, on August 18, was the most visited with a total of 2,526 customers among all ski areas of the resort. The booking of the Bike Park ski passes and the activities in the Mountain Park could be made online or directly at the ticket office. A point to highlight is that online bookings have increased to 87% compared to 2019 , a situation that shows that customers prefer to anticipate, benefit from online discounts and guarantee distancing measures.

The good weather and the desire to do outdoor activities have been reflected in the results of the Mountain Park and the Bike Park. The resort has been able to open all 99 days and meet its target of days marked on the calendar, along with all the stipulated events over many weekends and with more than 5,000 particitrousers in total . The Skyrace Comapedrosa World Cup, the Maxiavalanche and the Catalan Cup stand out mainly.

The Mountain Park has obtained an increase in turnover with an increase of 54% . Of all the activities, the most requested have been the Big Zip zip line and the Peke Park. The great novelty has also been the Virtual Ski Simulator. As for Snowplus , the leisure school of the resort, it has noticed an increase of 79% and is located in one of the areas of the resort with the most growth trend.

In terms of catering , more than 20,000 customers have enjoyed the different gastronomic services of Vallnord - Pal Arinsal. Specifically, the restoration has noticed a growth of 5% and demonstrates the importance of the variation of services. In total, 3 restaurants have been available throughout the season: El Xiringuito de Pal, El Expreso and Coll de la Botella. The latter has been the one that has received the most diners, thanks also to its proximity to the Arinsal Pal cable car, its different hiking routes and cycle tourism. Likewise, the Comapedrosa Refuge has respected its calendar 100%, offering a total of 130 opening days (from June 4 to October 12) and receiving a very positive response from walkers. In total, more than 5,000 people have enjoyed the restaurant services throughout the summer, of which 1,000 people have stayed overnight , representing an increase of 103% over the previous year.

Finally, regarding the COVID-19 issue, Vallnord - Pal Arinsal is very proud of the work done throughout the season that has prevented infections. Both the controls on the EMAP team and the actions carried out in all areas have made it possible to avoid incidents.

Despite being a season without large investments, the Massana resort highlights 3 great novelties that have been very important. The first, the new DHI World Cup circuit , with a starting point at Pic del Cubil and with arrival near the return of Cubil, will be the great premiere for the next UCI BTT World Cup next July 2022 Second, the integration of the Arinsal ski area in summer activities with the construction of 2 new e-Bike circuits and the creation of a new product: the e-Bike round. THE STATION IS PREPARED TO OPEN ACCORDING TO THE PROVISIONS NEXT DECEMBER 3RD.
