Up to 900 long distance runners in the Marxa Beret

The resort Baqueira Beret has lived this Sunday, February 5 a genuine festival of skiing, one Marxa Beret in its 38th edition has been accompanied by a severe weather conditions, however, they have not prevented more than 900 distance runners of all ages enjoy a great day of snow. A day that combines its most popular side with families and groups of friends, many of them foreigners with a 30% stake, and a large enrollment of young local talent, since the test was upscale FIS and also valid for the Cup Spain background RFEDI calendar.

They have also participated skiers major centers of modernization of Jaca and the Val d'Aran, in addition to clubs throughout the Spanish geography. As for international participation, form the largest group of up to a hundred Norwegians distance runners, followed by France, Italy, Andorra, etc., to a total of 300 international participants. The oldest of this edition fondista has been the Norwegian Jan Thomas Hoeg, 94, who has covered the distance of 10 kilometres as the youngest, age 7, who have also taken the exit at the most affordable distance. Notably Fransois data Soulie (2h18.32) and Brigit Korvald (2h53.01) the queen of the 42 km test.

Marxa Beret 2018

The Marxa Beret, has played in three distances. The short circuit in a 10 km area Beret and Orri; the 21 km area Beret, Orri and Montgarri and finally the circuit Beret 42 km in area, Orri, Montgarri and address Marimanha, thanks to the amount of snow that was available.

The preparation ski equipment in coordination with the race organizers have done an impressive job in response to a meteorology that has been varied. It has prevailed heavy snowfall that has complicated the choice of waxes especially skiers racing.
