Between the two a situation of strong instability will be formed that will leave snowfall, wind and lower temperatures until Tuesday, phenomena that will affect mainly the northwest and north peninsular.
According to a statement from Aemet, the advance of the stormy Jorge from Saturday through the Peninsula left during the last hours of Saturday rains and very strong gusts of wind especially to the northwest and north peninsular. In a large part of the Peninsula, a notable decrease in daytime temperatures has already begun, which will place the values close to the normal ones at this time of year.
On Sunday, rainfall was recorded in much of the Peninsula, especially from the afternoon. The snow level was around 1,200 meters, with significant accumulations from the last hours of Saturday in the Cantabrian Mountains.
The wind gusts of the west were less strong than those of the preceding hours, but they affected more areas, including the peninsular north-western quadrant, the western Pyrenees and the Iberian System.

It will be then that the snowfall already affects even in ski resorts that seem to have been forgotten this year for the winter. And although the most intense rainfall is expected in the extreme north and mountain areas of the peninsular interior, significant snowfall will be located from the height of 1,000 meters in the mountain systems of the north and center.
At the end of Monday, rainfall is likely to decrease and the snow level drops to 600/800 meters in the northern peninsula. The negative part is that then the wind gusts will become very strong, affecting the entire Peninsula. Streaks of more than 110 kilometers per hour are expected in high areas and points inside the peninsular southeast quadrant.
According to Aemet, on Tuesday, when the storm Karine is likely to move towards Italy and the rain and wind storm ends. However, it is expected that even this day there will be rainfall in the form of rain and snow in the northern peninsular and very strong wind gusts, as well as poor sea conditions, in the Mediterranean area.
Although there is still uncertainty about the evolution of the situation, according to the Agency it is possible that the unstable weather continues until Wednesday at least in the northern peninsula.
