One more season we bring you The Opinion of Our Experts. A section that seeks to bring you the best ski deals, resorts and hotels! Accompanied by very practical advice from the hand of our experts in the world of snow Esquiades.com.

Matías, Claudia, Ester, Pol, Guilherme and Bárbara, from the Product and Reservations department, have spent a few days in the ski resort of Sierra Nevada Did you know that in Esquiades.com we make holidays to know many of our destinations?

We like to know first hand what we sell on our website, for us it is very important to offer you the best ski holidays with first hand information!

Well, they have already returned to the office eager to tell you what they liked most about their holiday to the southernmost resort in Europe. Before we start the interview, we leave you a short video:

Hi guys! How cool that you have been in Sierra Nevada to be able to share your experience with the customers. What did you think of the resort?

Hello, hello, it has been a suuuuper special experience! The whole group really wanted to know Sierra Nevada, as you know the Esquiades.com offices are in Reus and Andorra, so this destination is a bit far away...

But every season we try to visit it!

When we come back we thought you would love a little video and interview in La Opinión de Nuestros Expertos. We as workers and skiers love it!

What do you say we start by talking about the resort?

Let's get to it! What is Sierra Nevada like? What would you highlight? We want to know everything!

The ski resort of Sierra Nevada is the southernmost in Europe, its imposing peak of Mulhacen at 3,482 m offers us a fantastic combination of sun, snow and the Mediterranean. Did you know that from the highest massif you can see the Mediterranean Sea and the African coast?

We loved the cozy and safe environment for all ages!

It has more than 110 skiable kilometers distributed in 131 slopes, with slopes that reach up to 1,200 meters. Approximately 1 million people ski in this resort!

In Sierra Nevada you will find several ski areas:

  • Pradollano: the base of the resort where all the services and hotel infrastructure are located, in fact we were staying there.

  • Borreguiles: it is the most familiar area and we saw that it has many easy slopes.

  • Loma de Dílar / Montebajo: here is the snowpark and is the area most frequented by them.

  • Laguna de las Yeguas: it is the most beautiful area with beautiful views. There are usually not many people, since this is where the most complicated slopes are. Do not miss the slope La Olímpica with a lot of slope and adrenaline!

  • Cauchiles / El Aguila: the less known area as it has a more complicated access, but it includes some of the most interesting and longest slopes of the resort. You have to do the El Aguila slope without stopping until Pradollano, it is the longest of the whole resort.

You can stay in Monachil, which is the village at the foot of Sierra Nevada, or in the urbanization of Pradollano. Both options are very good, close to the slopes and you will find all the necessary services: restaurants, ski rental, spas...

Speaking of accommodation... You visited the best-selling hotels in Esquiades.com in Sierra Nevada, but which one did you like the most?

Difficult decision! It depends on what you are looking for... there are options for everyone and every budget. Although there are 2 accommodations that we loved: The first one is the Hotel Meliá Sierra Nevada 4*.

It is located in the Plaza de Padrollano and only 100 m from the main lifts of the resort. Its decor is traditional high mountain, where wood, stone and warm tones predominate in every corner:

On Esquiades.com it is rated 8.9 out of 10 with more than 280 opinions! The breakfast buffet is amazing, it has show cooking and you can find scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, churros, pastries ... Also natural juices, coffee and tea.

And the second hotel we liked the most was the Hotel Meliá Sol y Nieve 4*, also located in the Plaza de Padrollano, 100 meters from the slopes El Río and Águila. Unlike the Meliá Sierra Nevada, its facilities are more modern in appearance.

Its Yhi Spa stands out, a refuge where you can relax after a day of skiing. We had the opportunity to spend some quiet time here. It consists of 2,500 m² of thermal waters, a wide path with a dynamic pool with jets at different heights, volcano, benches and hydromassage loungers, waterfalls and swan necks...

In addition to footbath, Finnish sauna, Turkish bath, cold well, flotarium and sensation showers.

WOW! Both hotels are incredible, what luck to have been in them. Finally, can you recommend places for tapas? In the south it's super typical and I'm sure you've eaten very, very well!

Apart from the sun and the good weather that characterizes the south, tapas are also a must (and we could say the best). We are suuuuper foodies!

Besides, when we ski we burn a lot of calories and it's normal that we get the munchies. Our favorites were:

La Mar Salá restaurant in Plaza Padrollano.

✔ It has a splendid terrace overlooking the resort.

✔ Ideal for tapas after your day, a delicious aprés-ski.

And the restaurant La Mar de Bueno also in Pradollano.

✔ Mixed flavors of sea and mountain.

✔ We recommend you to order the Confit de Alcachofas con foie y cecina, and the Presa Ibérica 100% Bellota.

Thank you so much for everything you've told us! We've really been looking forward to going to see how the snow and tapas are in Sierra Nevada.

We loved it and we are looking forward to spend a few more days, take advantage of our ski + hotel packs in Sierra Nevada to ski at the best price:
