The Sierra Nevada ski resort will reach this weekend the maximum skiable area of the season with 40 kilometers thanks to the opening of new slopes in Borreguiles, along with the premiere of the areas of Veleta and Loma de Dílar, as well as three lifts to access these ski areas.
The last snowfalls, and the reinforcement with produced snow, have allowed the machinists of the station to condition already for this Thursday six new slopes (Chotocabras, Maribel, Laja, Torrecillas, La Playa and Topos) up to 30 kilometers for this day.
For tomorrow the main slopes of the Veleta area (Panorámica, Cordón, Tubo del Veleta, Descenso Damas, Tobogán, Lastrón, and the upper part of El Águila) will be incorporated to the skiing offer, while in Borreguiles Morillas, Granados and Diagonal Cauchiles will be included in the snow report.
The opening of the Veleta area, with the Zayas ski lift, will allow Sierra Nevada to put into service (almost) all its skiable slope, the 1,100 meters that separate the vicinity of the Veleta peak with the urbanization of Pradollano.
On Saturday there will be a new extension of the ski deal with the Loma de Dílar (Loma Dílar and Bulevar del Jara slopes) which will be accessible with the Jara and Monachil chairlifts.
The resort presents thicknesses between 20 and 60 centimeters of powder quality in all operational areas.
For non-skiers, Sierra Nevada has the Mirlo Blanco activity complex and the Borreguiles toboggans. There are also dozens of restaurants in the ski area.
Sierra Nevada expects to reach 40km of skiable slopes.
