The peaks of Serra da Estrela already show white images

The Iberian Peninsula is waking up with the progressive opening of ski resorts this week. They will not be all, but in all the countries that form it. And the only one in Portugal, Serra da Estrela, has already started with the snow front that reached it on January 5.

At the moment there are only two slopes and two lifts, but enough for those who want to start taking their first steps in the snow and do it in Portuguese. In fact, the available traces are Covão and Cântaro, both verders and with 229 and 155 meters long respectively.

It is expected that the low temperatures and the occasional front, especially one this very night, may allow to open progressively more ski slopes as long as the humidity, which is still very high these days in Serra da Estrela, decreases.
