Those responsible for the Ordino Arcalís resort have announced that they are working hard to open 100% . Everything indicates that this will be the case for Friday and the last ski lift can be opened, the Creussans chairlift, and slopes to which it gives access, which will allow them to hang the most desired sign: Snow powder and all open.

The only ski lift that is missing to open and thus guarantee 100% of the facilities is that of Creussans , which gives access to an exclusive area for freeride practice. In this sense, the tasks have been resumed to ensure the area and to be able to start it in all probability at the end of the week, jobs that began last week and that have been stopped due to adverse weather conditions. As for the snowfall, the Ordino Arcalís resort continues to accumulate more snow. Without going any further, this Tuesday a new snowfall has left about 20 cm of new snow , which added to what has fallen during the season, has generated a total accumulation of 350 cm .

The rainfall of the last days has produced an important thickness, which equals the figure of last year by the same dates (370 cm on February 5, 2018). Snow levels on slopes range from 160 cm to 220 cm of powder snow, with 100% of the slopes open . The risk of avalanches continues at level 3/5, but it must be remembered that it is changing according to the conditions.

Countdown to Freeride World Tour

The more than 120 freeride itineraries and the 4 delimited areas within the resort (Cap de la Coma / Portelles, Creussans, Feixans / La Coma, l'Hortell / l'Abarset) make the Ordino resort has become the reference of the freeride, and internationally recognized as one of the most prominent spots of this modality, thanks to the development of the Freeride World Tour circuit tests. The countdown to this year's event has begun, and will take place from March 2 to 8 in the mountains of Ordino Arcalís. This year the event is of capital importance, since it is the last test before the great final of Verbier. In this way, Andorra will be the decisive test, since here it will be decided who are the best competitors that win the pass to the last test.

DVA detectors and DVA Park of the Coma

The resort has been involved in the safety of users by installing in the Cap de la Coma and Creussans control points , called "DVA checkpoints" that serve to ensure that freeriders check the proper functioning of their avalanche victim detection apparatus. In addition, In the Coma a DVA park has been built open to all people who wish to practice the rescue of people in case of avalanches. Specifically, in this area there are devices that emit search signals for users to find with their receiver, helped by the shovel and the probe. In case of doubts about the operation of this installation, the users can go to the resort's trawler service, which will guide them for the correct development of the activity. Modules of the Natural Park Arcalís

In the Funtrack , in the area of l'Abarset, there are modules categorized as XS, perfect for all audiences. The novelty is that some of them are characterized, one of them as the Golden Gate of San Francisco. As for the Feixans area, there is a module made with a cable coil, also suitable for everyone. The only thing that has not yet been opened, but that will do so in the next few days if conditions permit, is the one that is located at the base of Creussans, a backcountry kicker (trampoline) for the most expert, since its Departure is made a flight between 15 to 20 meters. Anyway, work will continue to make modules of snow also, properly marked.
