Despite the variable season in terms of a meteorology with significant temperature fluctuations, the resort has finished with 235 cm of snow at its high levels and all its facilities in operation. In fact, it has also been atypical the day of most influx that normally coincides at Christmas. This season the day with more skiers on the slopes was Good Friday , March 25, when more than 17,000 skiers on the slopes were counted .

Beret's success

This season the resort has reached 150 km of tracks plus five itineraries. Undoubtedly, skiers continue to assess very positively the increase in the supply of ski kilometres that in two years have gone from 120 km of the 2013-2014 season to 155 km of this. It is undeniable that this increase in paths has been one of the key factors to allow an increase of 13% of skiers compared to last season and 16% compared to that of two years ago .

The 25 new tracks in two seasons (21 in 2014-2015 and 4 in 2015-2016) allow adding 103 available paths , they are mostly located in Beret so this area is the one that continues to grow in terms of use in a 4.6% this season (the last one already increased 3.5% compared to 2013-2014), concentrating 32% of skiers. The remaining 50% and 18% are distributed by Baqueira and Bonaigua, respectively. The new Saumet area with its new tracks, and the incredible panoramic view it offers towards Cara Nord, in addition to the Jesus Serra chairlift connection and the car park facilities in Orri and Beret have been key in this growth.

Meteorology and clues

With the 150 km of marked beacons plus the 3 of routes marked at the resort, the slope preparation machines have trodden approximately 50,427 Ha. In terms of weather conditions, the minimum temperature of the season at 1800 of Baqueira has been -10.7 ° C.

A World Cup resort

Baqueira Beret continues to intensify its agenda of events and the main novelty this season has been the FIS Snowboard Cross World Cup that on March 20 meant the baptism of the resort in a circuit of the highest world level. The test was broadcast on televisions in 35 countries in addition to multi-country channels such as Eurosport covering Europe and Asia or Match TV covering Russia and the ex-Soviet republics. In Spain, the race was broadcast live on TVE-Teledeporte and Eurosport 2 and deferred on TV3-Esports 3.

Another major international event to highlight was the Marxa Beret-European Championships for Euroloppet cross-country marathons. The test was held on the weekend of February 6 and 7 with 1200 participants and lots of snow and the winners were Imanol Rojo, of the RFEDI team, in men and the French Marielle Bigot in women. Other popular events featured were the second edition of the BBB Ski Race Experience , the weekend of January 23 and 24, in which 300 registrants were able to discover every corner of the resort through the original test. The month of December also passed through the resort, specifically on the 12th, the Salomon Quest Challenge in its second edition with 500 registrants who enjoyed this heterogeneous race open to all audiences.

On the other hand, on February 20 the third edition of the fun quattro Era Baishada was held in Beret and on the weekend of March 12 and 13 the Jesus Serra Foundation Trophy celebrated its 9th edition granting scholarships to the best skiers

As for activities offered throughout the season, the new Audi Ski Kronos located in Baqueira has had great success. This stadium, next to the 2200 cafeteria, allows you to download an easy giant path that is recorded on video and takes time. The skier, through his pass, access this data through the Baqueira website and can share it on social networks. This activity was put into operation on December 17 and since then 18,476 downloads have been made and the videos have been viewed on the web 44,574 times.

Restoration, continuous improvement

The level cuisine continues to triumph in Baqueira with a large influx of high-rise gastronomic restaurants. This year the new Baqueira Winebar by Viña Pomal triumphed at the Montarto hotel with its offer of rations and dishes without complexes. The 5J Grill Baqueira of level 1800 has lived its third winter running tirelessly for the 4 months of the season. The Moët Winter Lounge of Orri , in addition to its careful culinary selection, continues to increase its myth with parties on its terrace. The San Miguel Refuge in Bonaigua has continued to surprise with the author's tapas and the Baqueira Bar 1500 has congregated many skiers every Saturday in a casual après ski.
