We can already say that the ski platform and the Avet de Soldeu car park ( Grandvalira ) are a reality. A total of 27 months, 70,000 cubic meters of land, 20,000 concrete, 16 beams with four tendons totaling 3,000 tons of steel and 100 km of wiring.
These are just some of the great figures that show the great scope of the project. The most complex and largest engineering work ever done at Grandvalira resort . All a technical and human challenge reached in record time. The project, funded by ENSISA, has been led by an Andorran construction and technical team. The ideologue and architect of the project has been Lluís Viu (Max de Cusa Arquitectos) and the engineering team has been in charge of the prestigious French technician of Pondio Ingenieros, Michel Virlogeux.
The platform connects the ski slopes with the town of Soldeu above the Valira River and fulfills the objective of providing the town with a snow front for customers similar to many resorts in the Alps with a new area of debutants , a wide arrival of the Avet track of the World Cup and a space to organize all kinds of cultural or social events, among others. For its part, the new car park solves one of the historical demands of Soldeu giving the town 450 car park spaces .

The project was designed for Soldeu to reach its full potential as a first-class international ski resort and strengthen the Grandvalira brand as a benchmark in constant innovation.
The works began in August 2017 with excavation, maintenance and foundation work. 70,000 cubic meters of land have been moved and important deep micro drilling activities have been carried out.
In February 2018 , the structure began to be erected with the pylons that formed the skeleton of the ski platform for which 20,000 cubic meters of concrete were used. The transport of the beams was a logistical challenge that could be achieved thanks to the paving of the road of the Gall de Bosc. The beams reached the large car park lot of El Tarter and drove down this road to Soldeu.
In July 2018 , the 16 beams that constituted the deck of the platform were installed. Pieces up to 90 meters long, which required a 1000-ton crane that was transported by 40 trucks to the foot of the Avet track.
In September 2018 , the surface of the platform was already a reality. A total of 14,000 square meters with 6 large openings installed to allow the passage of natural light in the river. All the work has faithfully followed the agreements established with the Ministry of Environment and Sustainability of the Government of Andorra.

In parallel, the construction of the Avet car park was moving at a good pace. The structure is formed by 4 plants that suppose 22,500 square meters. In total there are 450 spaces that will expand the free car park capacity with the Grandvalira ski pass and on the slopes.
During the winter season 2019, the first customers of the resort could already cross the skiing platform. In March, the awards came with the celebration of the Alpine Skiing World Cup Finals and the public filled to overflow the new arrival of the Avet track, in the same way that the broadcast images of the event could be seen on televisions around the world. world.
The foot of the Avet track has been today the scene of the official opening of the platform and the Avet de Soldeu car park. The act has had the interventions of the Head of Government, Xavier Espot; the Consul Mayor of Canillo and president of ENSISA, Josep Mandicó; the executive director and general director of Crèdit Andorrà, Xavier Cornella; the director of strategic projects of ENSISA, Conrad Blanch and the coordinating architect of the optional management of the project, Lluís Viu. The event was also attended by the Co-Prince of Andorra and Archbishop of the Seu d'Urgell, Joan Enric Vives.
The event, open to all audiences, has been attended by about 350 people who have enjoyed the different performances by the Esbart Sant Romà de Encamp, a violinist duo of the Andorra National Chamber Orchestra (ONCA) , from the renowned Brodas Bros, international dance and urban culture company of Barcelona and the Brincadeira, a group of young percussionists from Barcelona who perform at major events around the world.
