We start this new section of recommendations with the ski resort of Formigal. It is the largest ski resort in the Aragonese Pyrenees, being one of the favorites among all our customers.

It is the fourth most booked this December!

And no wonder; it has good snow at the moment, many kilometres of slopes, easy access and great après-ski atmosphere.

It currently has up to 45 cm of snow and snowfall is expected on 29/12 and 30/12.

What is it like to ski in Formigal?

Formigal has four ski areas and each one of them has its own entrance, we explain them here:

➜ SextasThe A-136 is the first one we come across on the A-136 road. It is practically next to the urbanization of Formigal, where some of the most booked hotels are located.

It is considered the core of the resort. Here you will find the famous Rio slope, two and a half kilometres of blue run; ideal for learning.

The upper part of Sextas is Tres Hombres, a spectacular area where there is a variety of slopes for medium and high levels. You can ski the longest and steepest slope in Formigal: Descenso.

➜ Izas-SarriosThe best for its beauty, the slopes and the quality of the snow. It is a valley embedded by mountains with a certain form of glacial cirque.

If you want to know the best view of Formigal... Take the Lanuza ski lift to admire the panoramic view over the Canal Roya. You will see the valley that extends to the gates of Canfranc, Astún and Candanchú.

➜ Anayet: the most popular. It is located in the center of the ski areaand allows you to move to both sides of the resort. In addition, it honors the Anayet peak.

Here you will find one of the service buildings of Formigal, with terrace, restaurants, car park, rental, lockers, ski schools ... It is a good place to take a break in the middle of the day.

This ski area is ideal for beginners!

➜ Portalet: it is the last ski area following the road and offers blue, red and black runs; long and for all tastes.
