Dolomiti Superski is the ski area with the most ski days sold in the world.

In 1974, a dozen ski resorts in northern Italy decided to join forces to create the world's largest ski area. The success of the initiative led to five more winter resorts joining in the following five years. This was to continue until the 12 areas that today make up the Dolomiti Superski.

In total there are more than 1,200 skiable kilometers spread over 12 resorts in South Tyrol, Trentino and Veneto, accessible by 450 lifts and a single ski pass.

Not all ski resorts are connected by slopes and lifts. Although during these years they have been working on the physical union of the maximum of them, currently it is estimated that together there are almost 500 kilometers of slopes, thus being able to make a sightseeing holiday on your skis for several days. In fact there are several routes, such as the Sella Ronda or the Giro della Grande Guerra as the most famous.

The union has been the strength during these years, which has also allowed them to position themselves as the ski area that sells more days of skiing around the world. A situation that this winter has not prevented them from beating their own sales records.

The Dolomiti Superski season ended on May 1 with the closure of the Faloria cable car in Cortina d'Ampezzo. Although the snow in the Alps has been slow in arriving, the company assures that it arrived in time for the opening of the slopes, and that it was able to maintain the conditions until the snow finally arrived.

All in all, after 158 days of ski season, Dolomiti Superski figures record 3,600,000 ski days sold (+11.2% compared to the last pre-Covid season, i.e. 2018/2019) and its lifts have recorded 11,850,000 entries (times a pass through the access winch has been recorded).

The Dolomiti Superski map comprises 12 resorts and 1,200 kilometers of slopes.

The large skiing offer thanks to the union of the ski resorts attracts more and more international skiers. Germany, with 21%, is the first foreign country present on the ski slopes of Dolomiti Superski. There is a good influx from Eastern European nations such as Poland and the Czech Republic above all. There are also arrivals from Croatia, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Austria, Slovenia and Switzerland, and since this season, thanks to the inclusion in the Ikon Pass, there is also an increase in arrivals from Canada and the United States.

The ski season had started under the worst forecasts due to the large increase in energy costs and the dramatic rise in inflation. Dolomiti Superski president Andy Varallo explained that;

"Fortunately, the most dramatic autumn forecasts did not come true and we can look back on a very positive season."

Dolomiti Superski is looking ahead to the summer, with the first lifts coming into operation from May 13 (at the height of the season there will be some 120 chairlifts, gondolas and cable cars in operation). The start date for the 2023/2024 ski season has already been set and will be Saturday, November 25.
