Baqueira yesterday Three Kings Day

Between December 26 and January 7, 12% more skiers enjoyed the Val d'Aran and Valls d'Àneu ski resort than during the same holiday period of the 22-23 season. There have been available up to 116 km of trails in the resort between the four open areas (Baqueira, Beret, Bonaigua and Baciver) adding about 20 km more on average than last Christmas.

Good conditions for skiing during this Christmas in Baqueira.

Snow thicknesses on the slopes have ranged between 20 and 50 cm depending on the altitude. Between January 5 and 7, the Three Wise Men did their job perfectly , giving the resort a snowfall of up to 80 cm of new snow. This precipitation allows us to be optimistic about the celebration of the Freeride World Tour at the end of this month, in addition to the rest of the season with optimal thicknesses for ski touring with the preparation and gradual opening of all the ski trails of the ski area.

The high number of visitors to Baqueira Beret this Christmas holidays has been undoubtedly motivated by the conditions offered from the ski area after the hard work of their teams preparing the slopes. In addition, this factor has been added to two weeks of mild weather since December 26 without wind and only two cloudy days, in addition to the snowfall already recorded from January 5. The cold has been the necessary for good conservation and snow production with temperatures down to -4 ° C the coldest (in fact 2 degrees less than last season which has allowed more snow production) and some noon with a good sun that have managed to fill the most popular terraces of the station.

Influx according to ski areas

With up to 74 open slopes accessible through 35 ski lifts in operation, comfortable skiing has been guaranteed on the busiest days. In this sense, 44.6% of skiers have passed through Baqueira, 34.3% through Beret, 20.4% have enjoyed Bonaigua and 0.7% have dared to use the Saumet ski lift in the Baciver area. This wide range of routes from Dossau (Beret) to Peülla (Pallars) has allowed skiers to be distributed in a balanced way.

Activities and competitions

Christmas traditions have been very present in Baqueira, and at the same time a great sporting activity has been developed with the clubs training and competing in the Fernandez-Ochoa Stadium in Beret.

The arrival of Santa Claus in dog sleds, the descent of torches, fireworks, the New Year's concert to welcome 2024 and the arrival of the Three Wise Men have been the main activities during the Christmas holidays in the resort of Val d'Aran and Valls d'Àneu.

On the 24th, with the help of Montgarri Outdoor dogs, Santa Claus arrived in Baqueira Beret with a sleigh that took him from Beret to Baqueira to welcome the multitude of children who were in the area. Baqueira Beret was illuminated with the descent of torches with more than 300 particitrousers and fireworks to end the year. On January 1, the traditional New Year's concert of classical music was scheduled. Hundreds of people welcomed the Three Kings of the Orient who arrived by cable car to Baqueira 1,500, distributing illusion to all present, thus concluding the program of Christmas activities.

The month of January has begun with several important competitions like the giants organized by the CEVA and the AISC in the Stadium the first days of the year happening for the two giants of the Memorial Montse Corominas also organized by the CEVA for the range U16 in which clubs of all Spain have participated.
