Baqueira Beret closed last season with a turnover of 43.2 million euros

On December 7, the Shareholders' Meeting of Baqueira Beret SA approved the results accounts of last 2018-2019 season, characterized by a significant reduction in snowfall and with it a decrease in turnover by -1.4% , leaving the total figure at 43.2 million euros.

Revenue fell in almost all its subsidiaries. Thus, Viajes Baqueira Beret billed -10% to 10.2 million euros. Overnight stays at Hotel Montarto, owned by the resort, went down to 22,711 nights, which represents 16% less than the previous season. The rent of the apartments remained in 23,778 rooms, a drop of -18%. Finally the section of rental of equipment and repair of ski and snowboards fell by -8%.

The only business unit that went up is the restoration, which increased its turnover by 8%. The success of stores such as the Pàrrec Moët in Orri, the new apréski premises at the foot of the slope or the reform of the Cafetería del Bosc in the 1800 level have been a good boost that this 2019-2020 season is consolidated with the inauguration of the complete remodeling of the cafeteria of level 2200, where the exit terminal of the old chairlift # 1 was.

Another part of the income of the company headed by Jesús Serra, has come from the sale of land, which has reported 927,000 euros to the company. Expenses on the other hand rose 2.4%, to 29.27 million. Baqueira Beret employed 664 people last season and currently has own funds of 72 million euros of which 26 million is in financial debt.

Of the nearly 12 million euros in profits, after having made a take-off in investment expenses for this season that began on November 23, it was approved to allocate 1.9 million to the distribution of dividends among shareholders, 2.4 millions are saved as reserves and 540,000 for capitalization reserves.
