On Sunday, April 8, the Baqueira Beret ski resort ended the 2017 - 2018 season and will be remembered as one of the best that has been experienced in years. The resort has been open for 142 days and with the visit of 887,000 skiers .

Likewise, there have been 63 days of intense snowfalls that have accumulated a sum of thicknesses (without stepping) of up to 10 m. More than double that last season. On the other hand, the opening of the 105 slopes has been 80%. Even so, the Baqueira area is still the most visited (52.4% of skiers). The minimum temperature of the season at elevation 1,800 was -14.3ºC and the mean snow thickness was 126 cm.

Leisure and gastronomy

Baqueira continues betting on major events and activities to boost its sales activity. Therefore, this season 45 musical performances and more than 60 sporting events have visited the winter season.

As for the musical performances, they have been distributed by the different bars with terrace of the resort. On the other hand, the high altitude restaurants have continued to be successful and the opening of the new Bosque coffee shop at the 1,800 level, which has allowed us to take refuge from the frequent snowfalls that never ceased.

Sports events in Baqueira Beret

The sports world in Baqueira Beret is present. Cross-country skiing has been the main protagonist with the FIS European Cup finals in March and the Marxa Beret which remains a great challenge. This year 850 cross-country skiers toured the Pla de Beret and covered 10, 21 and 42 km in the different routes. Another of the most notable events was the fourth edition of the BBB Ski Race Experience (coinciding with the World Snow Day).

News for the season 2018 - 2019

Thanks to this luxury season, the resort has already started thinking about next season. And a new investment of 1 million euros has been approved. This investment that will be launched during the summer will bring 8 new slopes and 2 ski lifts .

Among these tracks, 5 will be located in the Beret sector between the 1,847 and 2,100 levels and will be accessed by a new 3-seater chairlift . On the other hand, the remaining 3 slopes will be located in the Saumet area in Orri (2,600 m). Here a new chairlift will be installed and will occupy the highest point of the resort.
